A Divorce He Regrets

Chapter 203

Chapter 203:

Her grip on me tightened as she looked up, searching my face for answers. “What do you mean?” she asked, barely above a whisper.

I sat her down, my hands trembling as I tried to compose myself. “Faith,” I said softly, “do you want to talk in private? I—”

She shook her head, her eyes still red. “No, Dom. Everyone’s been worried. They should know too.”

I swallowed hard, nodded, and looked around the room. Alex leaned against the wall, arms crossed, his face unreadable. Raina sat stiffly, her eyes narrowed in suspicion. Faith’s hands clutched each other tightly in her lap. My heart pounded in my chest.

I took a deep breath and began. “I don’t know how this happened,” I admitted. “But I woke up in bed with Eliza beside me.”

The room erupted. Faith gasped, her hand flying to her mouth. Raina shot to her feet, pointing an accusing finger at me.

“What the fuck, Dom? Are you serious? After everything?”

But Alex said nothing. His eyes locked on mine, piercing, as if judging my every word.

I raised both hands to calm them. “Hear me out! I don’t remember a single thing from last night! I swear on God’s name—by God, nothing happened between me and her. I know myself. If something had happened, I would truly know.”

Faith’s voice trembled. “You… you don’t remember?” Tears pooled in her eyes, and my chest began to ache.

“I had only one drink,” I said, desperation creeping into my tone. “That’s all. One. And then nothing.”

The room went silent; every pair of eyes was on me. I pulled out my phone and brought up the recording I’d made earlier. “It’s all I could get,” I whispered, my throat tight. I played the clip—the recording of Eliza’s voice threatening me, taunting me.

After it ended, I looked at Faith. “I swear, Faith. I didn’t have sex with her.”

Raina crossed her arms, still fuming. “How convenient is that,” she said. “A recording, but nothing to prove what really happened.”noveldrama

It was Alex who finally broke the silence. His voice wasn’t raised, but it was firm. “It had to be Eliza who doped him,” he stated. “She’s done worse. She probably tried to… influence him into something. And when it didn’t work, stripped him down just to make it look like it did.”

Faith began to sob even harder, wiping at her eyes with trembling hands. “How can you be sure?” she whispered, her voice breaking. “How can you know that nothing happened?”

Alex’s gaze flicked to hers then. “Because it’s happened to me before,” he said simply.

His voice was steady, but there was a flicker of pain in his eyes that made everyone pause.

Faith’s head jerked up, her tears momentarily forgotten. “What?”

Alex nodded, his jaw tightening. “Eliza tried the same shit with me years ago. Drugged me, tried to make it look like something happened when it didn’t. Dominic’s telling the truth, Faith. I’d bet my life on it.”

RAINA

It had been a few days since the incident with Eliza, and Faith was a mess. Her usual radiance was dulled, replaced by the look of someone lost and broken. I did what I could; I tried to be there for her, holding her hand through the storm. But I could see in her eyes that she was slipping away.

I sat down next to her on the couch and listened as she let out a trembling breath. “I believe him,” she whispered, her voice cracking under the weight of her doubt. “At least, I want to. But why did it have to be her, Raina? Why Eliza, out of all people?”
