Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now

Chapter 909

Chapter 909:

Ernest met Eric’s stare, his expression calm and resolute. “Eric, Elissa is Locke’s mother.”

“I know!” Eric snapped back. “You think I don’t know that?”

“Then why the question?” Ernest asked calmly.

“Wait.” Eric suddenly realized something as he stared at Ernest in shock. “Are you suggesting what I’m thinking?”

“Yes.” Ernest nodded.

“You’re insane!” Eric exclaimed, standing abruptly. “You’re actually considering this? What about Linda? You made a promise to her!”

“Did you forget?” Ernest remained calm. “Linda and I are no longer together.”

Eric took a moment to process the truth in Ernest’s words.

“But, Ernest,” he said, gesturing toward the adjacent house, “Elissa has a husband, remember?”

“Husband? Please.” Ernest dismissed the thought with a scoff. “Her husband might as well not exist.”

Ernest would have never considered being with Elissa if her current spouse, Robin, hadn’t been a complete failure. Delving into a married woman’s life was not a badge of honor, after all.

Ernest then laid out his plans. “After Elissa’s surgery, we’ll see to her separation from Robin.”

Eric could see that Ernest had thought everything through.

Yet, he couldn’t resist asking, as he nodded toward the next house,

“Are you certain Elissa will agree with this plan?”

Ernest paused, caught off guard. “Why wouldn’t she agree?”

To walk away from a husband who cheated and treated her like dirt. To finally be back with her son, Locke. What more could she want?

After leaving the sanatorium, Eric made his way to the office.

Along the route, he found it odd that no one seemed to be tailing him. He wondered if Ferris had really backed off so easily, which was uncharacteristic of him.

Upon reaching his office, Eric scanned his day’s agenda. It was manageable, allowing him time to head over to the film set later to collect Hadley.

Just past four, everything wrapped up as expected.

Eric took a deep breath, steadying himself as he gripped his car keys and phone tighter, about to head out. Just then, his phone buzzed. He glanced at the screen. The number was international. Puzzled and slightly wary, he answered, “Hello? Who is this?”

“Hello, is this Mr. Eric Flynn? We’re calling from the Storia Embassy.”

Storia? Linda was in Storia!noveldrama

“Yes, this is Eric Flynn.” His tone tightened with concern. “What’s the problem?”

“Are you acquainted with Miss Linda Harris? She’s run into some difficulties here and has sought our help. She provided us with your contact details.”

A lump formed in Eric’s throat as anxiety took hold. “What happened to her?”

“Her residence was broken into. She’s faced some financial losses, and her passport is also missing. She’s now quite distressed emotionally.”

“Understood,” Eric replied, his face hardening with resolve. “Is she there? Can I talk to her, please?”
