99 Bloody Lashes And A Bullet To His Hear

Chapter 97

Joey had looked at the tiny baby in his arms and thought of Willa.

He and Willa's future child-would it be a boy or a girl? What would their personalities be like? How would their lives change with a child?

But no matter what, he would be a good father,

He had already learned how to take care of a baby, even looked at junior high schools for their future child.

He could take care of Willa and their child very well.

Joey smiled slightly and said, "Let's call him Leo Frost."

As for the nickname, he would leave that to Willa to decide.

Stacy looked at him and smiled even brighter. "That's a great name. The baby will definitely like it. Let's call him

Little Leo from now on."

Joey frowned slightly, realizing her misunderstanding. “That's the name I picked for Willa and my child."noveldrama

Stacy was stunned for a moment. "Joey, you really plan to have a child with her?" Joey's silence made her panic.

She grabbed his hand, her eyes red with tears. "I know you don't love her. You married her just to make me jealous. But now I'm back, Joey. We can be together again. This time, I won't leave you..."

"There's no need,"

Joey said calmly, pulling his hand away from hers. "When you came back, I was confused. What did I feel for you? But now, I've figured it out."

He looked at her with a distant gaze. "It's not about you. It's about regrets and unwillingness to let go of the past."

"Now I have someone I truly love, and I plan to spend the rest of my life with her. We're done."

"I've arranged the postpartum center for you as you requested. Rest well. I've done everything I can for you. Let's not see each other again."

That day, after clearing everything up, Joey felt a sense of relief as he walked out of the hospital.

At that moment, his phone buzzed with a notification.

It was from the auction house, informing him that the clothes he had ordered for

his future child and for Willa during her pregnancy had arrived.

Joey's heart ached with longing for Willa as he looked at the message.

He suddenly wanted to hear her voice. Before he realized it, he had dialed her number.

But all he got was the mechanical voice on the other end:

"Sorry, the number you have dialed is currently unavailable..."

Joey's eyebrows furrowed as he tried to call again, but the response was still the same mechanical tone..

What was going on?

Willa had never failed to answer his calls before.

Joey stared at his phone screen, recalling how he once forgot the time difference and called her at four in the morning. She would still pick up groggily and ask what was wrong.

But now, his calls went unanswered, like stones sinking into the sea.

Was she busy with surgery? Or in a hospital meeting?

Joey couldn't think of any other possibilities.

He glanced at the time, trying to suppress his growing anxiety. Once Willa finished whatever she was doing, she would surely call him back.

In the afternoon, the doorbell rang.

Joey opened the door to find the auction representative standing outside, handing over the purchased item and the documents that needed signing.

After signing, Joey paid the remaining commission.

The auction representative, aware of the value of the pink diamond, smiled and

asked, "Mr. Frost, did you buy this for your beloved?"

Joey couldn't help but imagine Willa wearing the ring, his eyes curving slightly as he nodded.

"How fortunate your beloved is," the representative remarked before leaving.

For the first time, Joey felt an urgent desire to return home.

But by the next day, Willa still hadn't contacted him, not a single reply on WeChat.

Joey began to feel something was off.

He tried calling Willa again, only to be met with a disconnected number!

Why?

Why would it be disconnected?

Joey stared at his phone in disbelief.

The overwhelming sense of loss and panic replaced all his previous thoughts.

He tried every possible way to contact her, but nothing worked.

The mechanical voice on the phone seemed to drain all his sanity.

He couldn't wait for his next flight back home. He asked to switch shifts with

another crew in Paris and booked the earliest available flight.

When the plane finally landed back home in the early hours of the morning, Joey rushed home without wasting a

second.

He opened the door, and everything was exactly as he had left it.

No signs of change, but that only amplified his growing anxiety.

Could it be that Willa hadn't been home since he left for Paris?

He hurried into the bedroom and immediately opened the wardrobe. Only his clothes were there.

The clothes he had worn that morning were still neatly placed on the stool at the foot of the bed. It seemed he hadn't noticed that Willa had prepared them for him.

He turned around and looked around the room.

Not just the clothes, but almost all traces of Willa's life here were gone, as if she had completely vanished from his

life.

The only thing that remained were the gifts he had given her.

Joey finally realized something was wrong. He sat down on the edge of the bed, his breathing gradually slowing down. His face turned pale as he picked up a document on the bedside table.

He remembered it was the purchase contract for a riverside apartment that Willa had been interested in.

He opened it, and his eyes widened in shock.

It wasn't a purchase contract at all. It was a divorce agreement, and worse, his

name was already signed at the bottom!

Joey couldn't believe what he was seeing. He flipped through the pages, and a thin piece of paper fluttered down and landed at his feet.

It was a pregnancy test report!
