A Reborn Bride Pearl Emerging from Dust

Chapter 763

Blythe's face was an odd shade somewhere between green and blue, with

splotches of red burning on her cheeks. She looked like she was about to keel over or maybe throw up. As she turned her head, her eyes locked with Calliope's. The latter was standing there, arms folded, clearly amused by the whole scene.

"Silas..." Blythe's voice trembled as she glanced over at him, her eyes practically screaming for help.

She was losing it. She desperately hoped Silas would come to her rescue.

"Let's go grab something to eat," Silas said, breezing past Blythe as if she were invisible. He offered Calliope his arm and they strolled off together.

Calliope glanced over her shoulder with a mischievous smile. "Mrs. White must really like the bunnies Silas gave you, huh? You're so kind and pretty. I'm sure you'll take great care of them, right?"

Blythe was just mentally picturing those two rabbits roasted with rosemary and garlic.

Silas, noticing Calliope's backward glance, turned briefly to Blythe as well. "The rabbits are your responsibility now," he said, his voice cool as ice. He gave her a short nod.

Blythe managed a strained, "Sure, Silas. I'll look after them!"

Calliope chimed in, utterly serious, "And you can't eat them! Bunnies are so cute. How could anyone eat a bunny?"

Blythe was about to lose it.

Those little furballs had pooped all over her suitcase, but with Silas saying that, she couldn't risk looking bad in front of him. What if she didn't take good care of the rabbits and Silas thought less of her?

Fuming, Blythe called over a maid.

"Miss, what should we do with the rabbits?"

"Toss-" Blythe started, but then she remembered Silas's chilly gaze. If she just dumped them, he'd definitely be pissed.

She bit her tongue. "Just... set up a pen for them over there. Give them something to eat. Don't let them die," she said, wrinkling her nose.

"Yes, ma'am."

"And get rid of that suitcase and my clothes. Burn them if you have to."

Once that was handled, Blythe asked for a room next door. No way was she spending the night in rabbit poop central. This way, when Silas came by to check on the bunnies, it would look like she was taking good care of them.

...

Meanwhile, Calliope and Silas headed to the dining room.

It wasn't long before Mavis and Norton joined them, sliding into seats across the table. Soon after, Uriah showed up, glaring like someone owed him a fortune.

Calliope and her crew had snagged a four-top, so there wasn't an extra chair.

Uriah fixed Silas with a baleful stare.noveldrama

Silas shrugged, "You wanna sit on my lap or something?"

Uriah: "Gee, thanks."

"Find another table, there's no room here," Uriah grumbled.

Silas looked at Calliope. "My wife picked this table. I'm not moving."

Uriah stared at Silas in disbelief. Was

totally whipped.

Traitor!

Uriah shot a pleading look at Mavis, his own protégé, for god's sake. Shouldn't she have his back?

Mavis didn't even look up. "You didn't make plans with us."

Uriah suddenly felt like the loneliest Portia at the ball.
