A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo)

Chapter 151 A Menacing Threat

Vera had no choice but to give the fruit to a housekeeper. Then, she approached William and took a seat next to him.noveldrama

"You never order the maids to do anything, Mom. Instead, you've never stopped working around the house. Aren't you tired?" Xavier asked in a puzzled tone, and there was bewilderment in his eyes.

The way he saw it, Vera was doing this to herself. Instead of embracing the wealthy lifestyle, she loved doing the maid's job.

Vera heard the confusion in Xavier's voice and let out a dry chuckle. "I don't have anything to do in the house. It's just to kill some time."

"You can take a page out of all the other wealthy ladies. Get some beauty treatment or hang out at coffee shops. Now, that's a wonderful life."

A hint of sorrow flashed in her eyes, and her hands, which were resting on her feet, clasped slightly.

"Your mom doesn't like doing all that stuff. It's good to stay home, actually. It's something she likes to do, and you should show some respect.

"That's enough. Your mom and I have something to talk about. Go up and play there," William said as if he was defending Vera.

"Alright. Okay. Mom can do whatever she likes. I'll leave you two to it. It's not like I'm interested in your conversation." Xavier got up from the couch and climbed the stairs.

Once the door was closed, the warm expression on William's face disappeared. It turned grim and cold as he set his eyes on Vera, who kept her head lowered.

"You heard what I said earlier. Benson wants to marry Sierra before New Year. This is wonderful for the Shaw family.

"I want you to call her now and ask her to get ready first. I won't tolerate it if she stirred up trouble at Gray Manor."

She wore a troubled expression. "But Cee doesn't want to marry Benson."

"She doesn't get to make that choice. What matters more? Sierra or the Shaw family? You've better get your mind straight!" His expression immediately darkened, and there was absolute rage flashing in his eyes.

Vera trembled for a second. She didn't dare to look him in the eyes.

"Call Sierra right now," William ordered.

She had no choice but to give Sierra a phone call. Once it got connected, a crisp and delicate voice could be heard over the phone.

"Is there anything you need, Mom?"

Vera pursed her lips and spoke into the phone under William's displeased gaze. "Benson invited us to have dinner at Gray Manor, Cee. Dollup a little. We're going there tonight."

"I'm not going." Sierra's voice immediately turned cold as she decisively rejected

it.

William frowned, and his expression turned grim. He snatched the phone and threatened, "Refuse it, and your mother suffers."

"What did you do to my mom again? Stop hurting her!" Sierra's enraged voice could be heard over the phone.

"It's her fault for being useless. She can't even get you to change your mind. If you continue to be this rebellious, she will suffer more than she does now."

William's expression turned even colder. "Do what I say and follow us to Gray Manor. You don't have the right to reject Benson from marrying you.

"Think twice before you say anything stupid while we're there. I might not be able to lay a finger on you, but your mom stays by my side every minute of the day."

Then, he hung up the phone. He

looked at Vera and raised a hand to

rest it on her shoulder. She was startled and instinctively wanted to duck out of the way, but he pulled her into his arms tightly.

William's body was warm, but Vera felt chilly all over.

"Don't worry, honey. I'll treat you nicely if Sierra obeys my command. If she starts rebelling, however will divorce your ass and let you live your old, piss-poor life again.

"Actually, scratch that. I will make sure you live an even more miserable life, so

much so that you'll think your old life is a freaking paradise!"
