A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo)

Chapter 287 Teasing

Sophie looked as if someone had grabbed her by the throat, unable to speak for a long moment.

Her eyes flickered before she quickly resumed her delicate, pitiful act. Then, she said in a voice laced with grievance, "I'm not lying. I want to marry you because I

love you."

Benson let out a cold laugh and walked away without looking back.

Standing in place, she wiped away her tears and gritted her teeth. "Sierra, why is it that even after you're married, Benson still can't forget you? You just won't go away, will you?"

The moment their argument ended, Janet received the news. Within half an hour, she arrived at Benson's apartment.

"Sophie, don't push your luck. If it weren't for Edward insisting that Benson take responsibility for the child, you wouldn't even have the chance to marry Benson.

"Now that you've gotten what you wanted, stop making a fuss. If you keep upsetting Benson, just watch how I deal with you.

"If it weren't for Edward demanding that Benson take care of the child, you wouldn't even be allowed through this door. And yet, you dare throw a tantrum at my son? You really don't know your place.

"It's just a child. Any woman can give birth. Without you, there are plenty of women lining up to have Benson's baby."

Janet's sharp words cut deep. Sophie felt a stabbing pain in her chest.

Once Janet left, Sophie could no longer keep up the act. She clutched her stomach and collapsed onto the couch, sulking in silence.

Meanwhile, Benson had lost count of how many times he had come to the apartment complex where Sierra once lived. Staring at the tightly shut door, he sank deeper into regret.

He never should have gotten involved with Sophie. If he hadn't, then the man married to Sierra right now would have been him.

The thought of his upcoming wedding filled him with frustration as his eyes darkened with unwillingness. Turning away, he got into his car and drove toward Southridge Heights.

At that moment, Sierra was picking out an outfit.

"This one's too casual-not good."

"This one's too formal-not good either."

"This one is nice... and so is this dress..."

Looking at the selection of outfits spread across the bed, she was visibly conflicted.

When Theo walked out after changing, he found her resting her chin on one hand, staring at the clothes as if facing a grave dilemma. "You still haven't decided?"

She pouted and nodded. "Why don't you pick one for me?"noveldrama

He glanced at the clothes on the bed, then at her hair. After a brief moment of thought, he pointed to a sleeveless blue dress. "This one."

She held the dress up against herself, then nodded in satisfaction. After changing, she walked out and glanced at Theo, who was sitting patiently on the bed waiting for her. Gathering her courage, she asked, "Does it look good?"

The moment he looked at her, the coldness in his eyes melted, and his entire demeanor softened. He didn't give a casual answer but instead carefully examined her from head to toe before stating his opinion. "You look beautiful. It suits you very well."

Everyone liked to be complimented. Sierra was no exception. A bright smile instantly spread across her face.

As they headed out, she threw on a black coat, which happened to complement Theo's black suit perfectly.

Coincidentally, the cufflinks on Theo's sleeves that day were sapphires, matching the color of her dress. To anyone unaware, they looked like a deliberately coordinated couple.

The gathering was being held at the same venue where Sierra and Madison had visited before. The moment she stepped out of the car and saw the familiar entrance, she couldn't help feeling a little awkward.

Theo walked over, let out a soft chuckle, and took her hand.

"You didn't mention the gathering was here. If I had known, I wouldn't have come," she mumbled, her voice growing quieter toward the end.

He led her inside. Under the guidance of a server, they headed toward a private room upstairs.

"Are you guilty?"
