Chapter 1467
Whispering softly in his ear as she gave off a fragrant scent, Waverly hopped around like an anxious kitty. The overjoyed Wyatt could feel his heart flutter seeing her swinging her claws at him.
"Wyatt Johnson!"
"I want it! Hurry up and give it to me!"
As soon as Waverly's raised voice from anger sounded, a bright light shot over in the next second. In an instant, gazes from all directions cast at them like a basin of cold water. Both of them forgot to react. All of a sudden, time seemed to have frozen.
Right then, Waverly was standing on the ground with one foot on the barstool. Her whole body was hunched and leaning forward. As she had been trying to balance and support herself, she pressed one hand on Wyatt's thigh and the other hand on his raised wrist. That wild and sexy posture, coupled with her ambiguous words, turned her into a desperate woman eager to pounce on a man like that of a wolf tearing him into pieces...
In an instant, their minds were thrown into a daze. A hushed silence fell over the crowd. Neither of them knew what was going on. Waverly was rendered the most confused of all. Thrown into a trance, she forgot to withdraw her hand. At that moment, the host's voice sounded once more.
"Mr. 19, 500,000 dollars!"
It was as though a bolt of lightning accompanied by rumbling thunder struck them. The two exchanged glances and were stunned. A sharp gaze came over, followed by which was light and mocking female voice.
It was a snort.
After coming to her senses, Waverly reflectively moved to keep her distance from Wyatt. As she shifted her gaze, she was met with a face full of contempt. Right then, a clear word was written all over the beautiful face, shameless!
Wasn't she the woman who had been treated as a human cushion on the gambling table?
The one whom she had once pitied and sympathized with.
Although she couldn't see the woman's appearance clearly, the dress had left a deep impression on her. She remembered the black gauze skirt, the deep V neck, as well as the two pitch- black summer sexy high heels. Although there was a distance between the two of them, she recognized the dress!
Right then, the woman had condescension and contempt swirling in the eyes landing on Waverly, but Waverly caught a clear glimpse of the bruise on her chest and fractured arm. Although the woman brimmed with confidence, Waverly saw through her mess.
Even up till right then, she must be suffering, mustn't she?!
Although the air conditioner in the living room was turned on, she wore a summer outfit to call attention to her curves and sexy figure. It seemed as though the temperature in the room was a stark and ironic contrast to her outfit!
In an instant, Waverly did not get mad and could resonate with Wyatt. He was right. Those who were pitiful must have a cause for having sunk to their lows. Even if she had no shame in trying to seduce a man, she was the one pressing onto the man, whereas men had been sitting on the woman, who had been laughing yet seemed to be crying. Even if her thigh wasn't fractured, there must be bruises all over!
Was there anything interesting with the pot calling the kettle black? Perhaps was she trying to find comfort by doing so?
If it were to be her, she would never have the guts to mock others!
Waverly was reminded of Wyatt's words. She was indeed different from her!
While she was absent-minded, the host's voice pulled her back to reality.
"Anyone else? If not, Miss 'Nameless' will belong to Mr. 19 tonight! 500,000, first..."
Her eyes fell on the woman standing on the stage. Right then, the woman and the host were shrouded in soft white light. An image flashed through her mind as Waverly instantly turned her head around. As their eyes met, Wyatt's dark face fell into her eyes, as well as the number plate on his arm. Under the dim fluorescence, there were two clear numbers '19'!
In an instant, Waverly understood why the auction had its lamps dimmed. It was not just to embellish the atmosphere on stage, but also to clearly see the number in the owner's hand. Each time someone raised the number plates to increase the bidding, the light would cast over. The two of them had been focused on chatting and making a din, failing to notice any of it. With the light cast from above their heads right then, Waverly came to an instant realization upon a careful ponder!
Wyatt was clenching his fist, glaring at the number plate on his sleeve. His face was gloomy to the core.
Coincidentally, he could hear all kinds of criticism echoing in his ears.
"Ha ha. This woman is so open-minded!"
"More like shameless. Does she think we can't see anything in the darkness? Look at her making a fool of herself in public!"
"Hee hee, look. That man is dashingly handsome! The woman is breathtakingly beautiful as well..."
"What's the use of being beautiful? Men like clean ones! Does she think she's a celebrity?"
"Ha. Indeed, who would like her seeing how desperate she was?" "Nowadays, women would go all out, won't they? How thick-skinned she is!" "Yes, he has expressed his feelings, yet she won't leave!" "Ha ha..."
Wyatt's face darkened as he listened to their mutterings, while Waverly's face paled. It was clearly a misunderstanding, but right then as the two of them were targeted, who would believe them if they tried to explain saying that they were fighting for a prize?
Wyatt was too smart, and his actions were too quick. Up until right then, she did not know where he was hiding the little box.
Anyway, she didn't see any trace of it!
It was a prize she had won, not to mention how it wasn't valuable, yet the petty Wyatt refused to give it to her. What was more, he even got himself criticized by others and accidentally auctioned for a woman, adding fuel to Waverly's anger. As she didn't want to be pointed to and gossiped about under the limelight, Waverly lowered her gaze and felt the sudden urge to jump off the bar stool with her face pale. Turning around and was about to leave, Wyatt wrapped his arms around her waist and reached out to pull her into his embrace without a second thought...
"Waverly..."
"Let me go."
Waverly dared not resist under the light, but she tried to forcefully push him, gritting her teeth and lowering her voice.
Wyatt didn't want to stir any more trouble with everyone's attention on them. The arms around her waist tightened, his attitude self-evident.
The host on the stage noticed the small gesture of his and paused
ol
briefly. Since the organizers had signed an agreement with the client, and he had already put forward the rules before the auction, he had made it clear that no one was to go back on their word. None of them were allowed to make mistakes or regret their decisions. Before the auction, he would read out the rules, and at the same time, remind the buyers to make careful choices. It was a rule set up to ensure the smooth order of the auction.
Those who could enter the banquet and obtain a number plate were not ordinary people. Most of them were well aware of the rules. It was the same for Wyatt and Waverly. That was why no matter how mad she was, she did not make a fuss for the sake of their dignity!noveldrama
From a distance, the duo seemed to consist of a woman throwing a tantrum and a man coaxing her. The host paid close attention to the reaction of the two since he was mainly afraid of them creating a scene. The others looking on held different attitudes. Some watched the fun, while the others looked forward to seeing who would end up with the lady.
Knowing that she was being watched with her cheeks puffed, Waverly knew that she could not get away, so she gave up doing so. She knew that everyone's attention on her would soon pass, so she would not allow others the chance to ridicule and mock her although she was, right then, considered a laughingstock! The person feeling the most trapped must be Wyatt. Not only was he being paid attention to, but his status would not allow him to go back on his words on such an occasion. It was a major taboo in auctions, but since it was obviously just an accident, one could imagine how awful he must be feeling right then. Not only was he required to pay to buy something he didn't like, but he had also offended his sweetheart and stirred trouble by leaving others his weakness? How wronged was he!
He felt his heart brewing a storm! Deep down, he prayed for someone else to save him as soon as possible, yet, an infuriating voice sounded from the stage. "500,000 dollars, the second time! Everyone, is there anyone who wants to increase the price? If not, this 19-year-old girl will land in Mr. 19's hands! 19 to 19! I wonder if this is destiny?"
Right then, Wyatt's face was gloomy to the core. Fuming, he wanted nothing more than to drag the host down from the stage and give him a good beating on the spot. "F*ck destiny! Do you even know how to talk?"
On the stage, the woman who had been huddling her shoulders and blankly standing on the stage like a commodity waiting to be priced had her eyes flash with a gleam of expectant light the moment she noticed the buyer turning from a perverted old man into a handsome young fellow.
Pursing her lips, Waverly's face seemed to be covered with a layer of ice.
Although she knew that it was purely
a misunderstanding, she was
Hel
disgusted by the thought of the inevitable interaction! It was especially after her eyes fell on the woman on the stage that the depths of her heart surged with an inexplicable feeling of nervousness. She had to admit that the young body had an inexplicable attraction to it. Although she couldn't take a look at the face of the men below the stage, it implied that there was more than one person fighting to bid the woman since the price had
raised to 500,000 dollars!
Five hundred thousand for a woman's first time. Only then did Waverly realize that
it could be so valuable!
The girl on the stage wore a tight
black dress with a low neckline and
sleeves of elbowlength. Her upper body was wrapped in a seemingly elastic tight dance dress, whereas her lower body wore a slim black short dress that fitted her body. It was neat and seamless but was. loose and tight at the right place, hugging the curves of her waist yet
loose at her hips. The woman was not scantily dressed, nor did she try to feign innocence by being dressed all pure white. She must have put a lot of effort into choosing the outfit which suited her figure. The most special thing was that the woman did not wear a bra, and the enlarged
screen would switch shots at any time, highlighting her chest, especially from the side. The camera would focus from time to time, so those with malicious
intentions could take a closer inspection.
One to admit that the organizer was smart!
What do you think?
