Chapter 1618
Even if she was unwilling to admit it, after that day, they had indeed gotten closer, and their intimacy had been advancing by leaps and bounds. The feelings they shared were no longer innocent, and it seemed that this man's position in her heart had done a one-eighty.
In the next few days, Waverly felt miserable. In the following week, she still did not get used to the pain between her legs. She walked funny, so she clearly did not even want to get out of bed, let alone go home. Naturally, she complained. But in the end, she could only blame herself for the decisions she made.
That afternoon, Waverly laid in bed, feeling bored. She unconsciously sighed, thinking that boredom was the worst torture in this world.
She played with her nails and turned to lie down on her belly, wondering when she would be able to walk normally and go back to work.
She had just let out a sigh of relief when a burst of laughter rang out. In the next moment, she felt a gentle slap on her bottom. "Haha... Are you still lazing in bed?"
Sitting up, Waverly pouted unhappily. Why was he laughing at her?
She was about to be bored to death, yet he was still laughing at her. How cruel was he?
In the past few days, she felt too ashamed to go out. Despite Wyatt ordering the servants not to gossip, she still noticed the way they looked at her. She knew that it was impossible to erase the past.
Wyatt stuck the straw into the cup of milk tea and handed it to her. He then hugged her from behind, rubbing her neck intimately.
"Silly! Do you have any idea how many men wished to be with you, and women, to be you? You are blessed by nature, and you know exactly how to satisfy men."
Stealing a kiss on her cheek, Wyatt tightened his arms around her and said, "Don't overthink, and there's no need to be shy. This is just part of the journey of becoming a woman. Waverly, you've grown..."
Did she not notice how beautiful and lovely she had grown to become?
How tragic!
"Well, it's easy for you to say that. You're not the one suffering." Waverly rolled her eyes at him, but took a few sips of milk tea happily. Indeed, men cared after all.
However, he didn't expect that he would care so much about her. He knew that she was a widow, and he thought that she was hurt by that man. But he still made a promise to her and did so many things that he didn't dare to imagine for her in the past... Even now, he tried his best to control himself just so she would not be in pain. Nonetheless, Waverly did not regret that night.
"I want to go out for a walk!"
She felt safer with him by her side. Besides, she wanted to see if the pain had reduced. It would be devastating if it hadn't.
"All right!"
Waverly slowly got out of bed. Sure enough, she felt better. Although walking still felt a little uncomfortable, she didn't feel any pain anymore!
But after all, she was walking on a flat surface. She wondered how she would do when she went down the stairs later.
After Waverly changed, she pushed Wyatt in front of her as she followed behind him quietly.
Glancing at the small figure behind him who was cowering and stuck her head out from time to time, Wyatt could not help but smile.
Was this what people called "plugging one's ears while stealing a bell"? Did she really think that no one would notice her if she hid behind him? How innocent!
Downstairs, in the courtyard, Waverly looked at her slender legs in surprise. She covered her mouth and giggled, thinking how great it was that she could walk properly again!
She shook her head and stepped forward. Wyatt patted her head and asked, "Have you gone insane? Was looking at the mirror not enough for you?" "What do you know?"
In the room, she only walked on a flat surface. What mattered was walking down the stairs. Waverly ignored him and smiled. Just then, she saw the servants taking a dog out. By the time she came to her senses, the dog had already rushed straight to Wyatt, dragging the servants behind it.
"Mr. Johnson! Mr. Johnson!"
Before Wyatt could speak, Waverly grabbed his arm and said, "Let's keep Dumby."
Wyatt nodded and motioned for the servants to pass the leash to Waverly. The two of them strolled in the courtyard, chatting while walking the dog.
For the first time, Waverly genuinely enjoyed walking. She had a wide grin, feeling on cloud nine.
They strolled for a while. As soon as they stopped, the dog ran wildly, dragging Waverly along.
"Dumby! What are you doing?"
"Stop! Stop! Don't run! Dumby!"
Although Dumby was not big,noveldrama
Waverly was caught off guard. She staggered and let go of the leash. Waverly's shoe fell off and she stood there, panting. She was burning with anger.
"Dumby! You little idiot!"
How could a lousy dog bully her? Did it know that she could not run fast?
The more she shouted, the more it ran. It was really disobedient!
Pulling on the hem of her skirt, Waverly was so angry that she roared. Just as she turned around, Wyatt walked over with her shoes in hand. "Haha!"
She was actually being calculative with a dog!
Wyatt bent over and patted the dust off her feet before slipping on her shoe. His action was very smooth, as if he was taking care of an ignorant child. There was not a hint of discord between them.
This only made Waverly angrier. She pouted and said, "How dare you laugh at
me? Look at your dog! It's stupid!"
She was exhausted from running.
She had only been resting for a few days, but she was already out of breath after just a few steps.
Thinking of where Dumby came from, Wyatt's smile widened. "Do you know what Dumby's surname is?"
"Huh?"
She was stunned by his question. Waverly thought for a while before replying, "What could it be? Isn't its name just Dumby?"
"Haha..."
Wyatt suddenly lowered his head and whispered into her ear, "Its surname is Castle..."
Castle?
Did he adopt Dumby for her sake?
As they looked at each other, Waverly was obviously touched. Then she shouted
angrily, "Wyatt-"
What do you think?
