Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1624

Red light district?

Why did the term sound so familiar? It seemed that she had seen it somewhere!

With her eyes widened, the expression on Waverly's face experienced drastic changes. She subconsciously turned around and pointed to the housing agent behind her, "Didn't she say... Isn't that a high-end residential area where the upper society gathers?"

Was it the red light district she was thinking of?

Red Light District. The phrase seemed to have first appeared in the eighties or nineties in America because back then, prostitutes would place in front of the window under the illuminance of red light to attract customers, hence giving it its name. Red Light District later became the term for the profession, a phrase where such deals were carried out. Could such things be used to talk big and make lies up? According to the agent, only the wealthy, powerful and women with taste could afford the units. Was it as deceiving as Wyatt mentioned? Did the woman take her as a fool? Wasn't it afraid that she'd accuse them of committing fraud by introducing and promoting such buildings to her?

Two of them were saying the opposite, so which of them was the truth? Would such a large real-estate agency do such a thing?

In an instant, Waverly's eyes filled with confusion and daze.

"Do you know what that unfinished building used to be named as?"

Waverly shook her head dully.

"Sunshine City. A few years ago, it was a well-known unfinished building with crusade banners everywhere on the streets. Almost everyone knows about it... Later, an affluent man took the building over. Do you know how the building returned to life?"

In a daze, Waverly shook her head foolishly once again.

"They cast a wide net and raised beautiful women before sending and gifting the women as well as the units to high officials and wealthy men. Whether they would accept the gift or not was another issue to be debated. Except for those who escaped the net, it is inevitable for others to comply. A few gorgeous women can completely revive the building, so after a new developer took over the place, the name was directly changed to 'Angeles City'. Rumors had it that there was once a high official who kept three mistresses in the community. Angeles City, do you really think that it's meant for independent and high-ranking white collars like you? Do you know who most of those entering and leaving this neighborhood are? They were bounders within their veneer, where they are glamorously dressed up doesn't mean that they are clean in what they do!"

In the building were either mistresses, lovers, or women working as prostitutes. They were famous fortheir beauty.

Yet, would there be anyone who didn't understand how filthy the place was?

Of course, Wyatt would not tell her the reason why he knew it so clearly was that each of them was given several units. As for which buildings and floor it was, he could not remember clearly, but he vaguely knew that he had received the units as gifts. Also, it seemed to have been used to entertain business partners with relevant requirements.

Of course, not all the agent said was fake. As of right then, Angeles City was regarded to be a high-grade residential quarter. Many of the residents were those with dignity, but all of them had a tacit understanding of each other. There were indeed normal families moving into the residential area, but there were very few of them. A lot of them were mistresses or sharing underworld deals. As a result, those with selfish motives hidden to climb up the social ladder, or urgently needed to expand their connections would purchase a property in the residential area or plan to move into the property long term. As such, it was one of the important reasons for the success of the residential quarter.

In their circle, however, they all knew that it was a disguised red light district.

Women appearing in the neighborhood were indeed relatively young, breathtaking, and alluringly dressed, but most of them were not involved in legal businesses. A large portion of them held ulterior motives. How many normal families would buy a house in such an environment?

He guessed that the woman recommended the community to Waverly based on her beautiful appearance!

One had to admit that the person who had taken over the building was smart. No matter what method he had used, at least, he achieved his purpose of reviving the building, turning it well known overnight.noveldrama

In fact, there were those who imitated his tactics, but none of them were as successful!

Perhaps the halo revolving around the residential quarter was too glaring and brilliant, or perhaps many associated themselves with the residential area and were accustomed to it. In short, the place seemed to be a well-established underground trading area.

"Well, if you go in, you may become another living signature product of the community."

Waverly, who was shocked enough, felt increasingly uneasy as the cold mocking voice rang out in her ears. Biting her lips, she muttered, "I didn't know that all these take place in the community..."

Had he gotten mad for real?

Not only did she fail to choose a home for herself, but she also had to owe him a favor, not to mention how she pissed him off. Did she go for wool and come home shorn?

With her jaw slightly drooping, Waverly blinked her long eyelashes and sneaked a careful glance at him as she tugged at the hem of his clothes somewhat fawningly. Her eyes spelled obedience. Since she was too the victim, would he forgive her just this once?

Her pose of admitting to her mistake was written all over her face, to which received the response of Wyatt haughtily turning around and getting into the car.

Knowing that she stood no hope in checking out new houses that day, plus how she seemed to have offended Wyatt, she dared not stop in her tracks. After opening the door, Waverly climbed onto the passenger seat, obediently fastened her seat belt, and flashed a cheeky grin at Wyatt.

"Hee hee"

She was at a loss for words. It seemed that she would have to return to the wolf's

den that night!

In such a situation, Waverly's feelings of having to depend on others intensified. She fiddled with her fingers and was deeply embarrassed. Was she not supposed to dig her own grave at the moment?

While she was lost in thoughts, the car engine had started.

Faintly, Waverly could only heave a secret sigh and lament about how unlucky she was! Forget it. She had better be more obedient. Else, she could no longer find a safe place to stay if she were to offend Wyatt, her backing!

How did she end up in such a state?

Waverly's thoughts drifted away as she fiddled with her fingers and blinked her watery eyes.

All of a sudden, an ear-piercing horn sounded. Upon returning to her senses, she realized that they had arrived at a red light. In the driver's

seat, Wyatt remained to pull a long face at the moment. With her head tilted, Waverly tried to crack a conversation. Content bétongs to

"Wyatt, how did you know I was shopping? Plus... at the city center? You're indeed my patron saint. Do we think alike?"

As she spoke, she was puzzled. How unlucky she was to run into a notorious housing agent when purchasing a house for the first time. Worse still, she ran into

him?

Had he always been sending his men to keep an eye on her?

A thought flashed through her mind. As soon as Waverly opened her mouth to speak, the car moved, so she had no choice but to swallow her words. No! Why would he be keeping an eye on her? If she could run right then, would she be able to escape his grip the next time? Yet, it was too much of a coincidence!

As she panicked, a different thought came to her mind. In a blink of an eye, it

turned out to be another red light.

Waverly perked up and continued to say, "Uhh, thank you for today"

It was still dead silence.

How could he ignore her?

D*mn it!
