Don’t Fall for the Billionaire Lover

Chapter 845

Connor's voice was almost choked with emotion by the time he finished speaking, which was a rare sight for someone as stoic as him. Chloe couldn't help but feel a mix of amusement and deep affection. Here was a man who could face anything without flinching, yet now he stood before her, visibly moved. Despite the simplicity of his words, Chloe felt the weight of sincerity behind each one.

"Would the bride now please share her vows?" the minister asked, breaking the momentary silence.

Chloe's vows were meant to mirror Connor's, but something within her urged her to speak from the heart. Holding Connor's gaze, she began, "Connor, if you find yourself alone, I'll be your friend; if love is ever scarce, I'll love you... And I'll love you forever, forever, forever..."

Connor was taken aback, his body momentarily frozen. Those words were all too familiar, once a beacon in his darkest days. They had been an anchor, words that held him together when everything seemed lost. Yet, Chloe had long forgotten that serendipitous exchange from over a decade ago. Connor had assumed it slipped from her memory because she was just a child then, but he couldn't shake the lingering sense of loss.

Now, hearing Chloe speak those words aloud, his heart quivered with a mix of shock and joy. The image of a young girl perched on a sycamore tree, sucking on a lollipop, merged with the radiant woman standing before him. His eyes grew misty, and in a voice so soft only Chloe could hear, he whispered, "You..."

Chloe stepped closer, cradling his face in her hands, and kissed him. Her lips brushed against his as she murmured, "Yes, I remember everything..."

The crowd erupted into applause and cheers. Amidst this joyful chaos, the minister declared, "In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, I now pronounce you husband and wife. From this moment on, through every storm or sunshine, in poverty or wealth, in life and death, you shall remain together, inseparable..."

Once the ceremony concluded, Chloe retreated to the lounge to rest. Connor joined her, gently massaging her shoulders. "Feeling tired?" he asked.

Chloe nodded. Fatigue had been her constant companion lately, perhaps due to her pregnancy. She often found herself nodding off during the day. Instinctively, her hand drifted to her growing belly. It had been two weeks, and the baby was thriving. Just yesterday, she had visited the doctor alone, and everything was perfect.

Chloe had slipped the ultrasound report under their bedroom pillow, planning to share the news tonight. "I've got a little surprise for you later," she teased.

"What kind of surprise?" Connor asked, his curiosity piqued.

"It's hidden under the pillow in our room. You'll find out when you get home."

Connor chuckled, "You're making this sound so mysterious; I can hardly wait."

Chloe snuggled into his arms, "It's worth the wait."

"There's still the reception tonight, and it's going to be a bit of a

marathon. Think you can tnoveldrama

Connor asked, concerned about her energy levels.

Chloe smiled, reassuring him, "I'm tougher than I look."
