Don’t Fall for the Billionaire Lover

Chapter 850

"Why would your sister kidnap Chloe? I mean, she's family. Surely Chloe's not in any real danger, right?" Connor was at a loss for words, his grip on his phone so tight his knuckles had turned white. "She must have a reason. If she does, she'll reach out to me. Don't worry, I'll bring Chloe back safe and sound."

Despite his words, Connor was anything but confident. All four Shaw siblings were there, and both Winston and Cassie were wracked with guilt. Cassie smacked herself hard. "I should've stayed by her side every single moment. I'm such an idiot." She went to hit herself again, but Winston stopped her, catching her wrist. "No, it was my fault for not being careful."

No one had seen this coming. Even Connor didn't think Claire could pull this off. Escaping from the tightly secured St. Mary's Hospital and then kidnapping Chloe was no small feat. She couldn't have done it alone; there had to be a whole network behind her.

Ruby chimed in, "Now's not the time to point fingers. We need to figure out what Claire's real motive is." Connor added, "She's targeting me. She'll definitely reach out to me. She has to."

Everyone wore worried expressions. Kash broke the silence, "I've already

reached out to the Falcon Team. They're on it, launching a full-scale search centered in the city. We'll find something soon. Claire's crafty, but she can't make a person disappear without a trace."

With Kash's words, the room fell into a deep, anxious quiet. Everyone was lost in their own thoughts. Suddenly, Neil's phone rang, cutting through the tension. The sound was jarring in the silence. Neil picked up, and after a brief conversation, his face went pale. noveldrama

Ruby had never seen Neil look like this, but she had a hunch. "Is it the results?" she asked, her voice edged with anxiety. Only they knew about the paternity test they had run Chloe and Neil that day. Ruby gripped the back of the sofa tightly. "What do they say?" Her voice shook slightly.

Neil didn't say a word, just nodded. Ruby sank into the sofa, overwhelmed. Isaac noticed his parents' odd behavior. "Mom, Dad, what's going on? What report? What did you find out?"

With Ann in the room, they couldn't spill the beans just yet. Neil said, "We'll talk about it at home. Right now, we need to figure out our next move."

Neil, who had been tough as nails all his life, couldn't hold back his tears any longer. What should have been the happiest day was now clouded by sheer terror. The paternity test was in Chloe was indeed his biological daughter. But they hadn't had the chance to share this joy with her before everything turned upside down.

Ruby knew exactly what kind of person Claire was—reckless and ruthless. No one could say for sure if she might harm Chloe in a moment of anger. They couldn't bear the thought of losing their daughter all over again.
