Dumping Him for His Uncle (Natasha and Zachary)

"Speaking of the project, Faye should be following up on it with a different professor. A small project like mine doesn't really need to get her involved."

The interviewer then introduced herself to Natasha as Nancy Blair.

Natasha then smiled and nodded as they became further acquainted.

"Do you want me to give you a rundown on our current project?"

Both of them began a tour of the lab. Seeing familiar equipment and smelling some familiar scents made Natasha feel like she had returned to classes.

Nancy looked troubled as she continued, "We're still short on members for this project. I'll be keeping an eye for more eligible members."

She had just been transferred from the headquarters and was unfamiliar with Jindale, so she did not have many friends to rely on.

Natasha immediately thought of Xavier. "I have a friend who might fit the bill. I can introduce him to you if he's a good fit."

Both Natasha and Nancy then continued chatting with one another for a while.

Neither of them noticed that Zachary was standing just outside the door.

Due to Zachary's arrival, the lab's director, Vincent Graham, also made an appearance within the lab.

Vincent put on his cap and asked his assistant anxiously, "Mr. Foster hardly ever visited us for the past year. Why did he suddenly visit us today?"

Everyone present remained puzzled by Zachary's visit, even though he was merely there for a tour of the lab.

The Jindale Laboratory was just to the left of the Foster Tower, but it was a building that was often overlooked by others.

Even food delivery men would just head straight into the Foster Tower after failing to notice the lab.

"Mr. Foster, are you here to check on any project in particular? All of our experiments are progressing as per scheduled..."

Vincent nervously explained about the lab's projects, and Zachary eventually revealed a frown on his face.

Everyone thought that he was displeased with the progress, but in reality, he was just wondering when Natasha would appear.

After a long while, Natasha finally appeared with Nancy by her side.

"That's the gist of things, Natasha. You can sign in with me tomorrow and officially join our team. After that, you can start working on the experiments."noveldrama

Only after Nancy finished talking did she realize just how many people who were not part of the lab were gathered in the room.

It was the first time she had seen such a crowd forming within the lab, not for research-related matters but just for one single person.

"Zachary Foster?"

Both Natasha and Nancy said his name at the same time, leaving Natasha momentarily stunned.

Nancy's gaze was fixed solely on Zachary alone, as if nobody else existed.

While everyone was still frozen in surprise, Nancy had already rushed over to Zachary and hugged him. She brushed her hand along his cheek and said, "It's been so long! And you still look just the same as you were."

Zachary quickly stepped away from Nancy when he met Natasha's puzzled gaze. Nancy then smiled and leaned in further to him. "What, have we grown so distant with each other after not seeing each other for so many years?"

Zachary stayed still this time. He wanted to see Natasha's reaction to the scene.

Suddenly, Natasha's phone started ringing. She answered the call in one smooth motion before turning around to walk out of the lab.

"Let me have a proper look. You're really..."

Zachary barely registered Nancy's words. His attention was solely focused on a certain someone leaving the scene.

"Relax, Owen. I know my limits. Faye won't suspect a thing."

Natasha smiled helplessly. She could not believe just how much Owen had to constantly worry about, despite being younger than her.

She continued, "We'll eventually confront her face-to-face anyway. Even if she finds out about me earlier than expected, we can just move up our plans in response."
