Chapter 570: The Thief’s Heart Never Dies

Chapter 570: Chapter 570: The Thief’s Heart Never Dies

At the coffee shop on the ground floor of the company building, Chi Yue encountered Leng Siling.

It had been some time since she last saw her, and Chi Yue noticed that Leng Siling looked much more haggard than before.

"Have you... been arguing with Chu Shuo recently?"

Chi Yue’s concerned gaze could not be faked, and when Leng Siling thought about her own complaints these past few days, she suddenly found it a bit amusing.

"It seems you don’t know anything."

Chi Yue’s expression grew even more bewildered, "What happened?"

"Chi Yue, Chu Shuo has fallen out with Fu Rongyin, over what happened on the day you were hospitalized. They had a fight."

Leng Siling spoke lightly, but Chi Yue listened with her heart pounding. She tried to remember what happened after she was hospitalized that day, but she couldn’t recall anything about that incident. noveldrama

Leng Siling said, "Stop trying to remember, you were unconscious when they fought, and since they didn’t tell you about it, it’s normal that you don’t know."

Chi Yue suddenly had a bad feeling, "How did they start fighting?"

All she could think of was Fu Rongyin not being heartbroken for her, and Chu Shuo couldn’t stand it.

However, Leng Siling said, "Chu Shuo still harbored feelings for you, and Fu Rongyin found out. He couldn’t continue to stay by your side. He came to resign today, didn’t he?"

Chi Yue was shocked.

She had never expected this, and for Leng Siling to be the one to tell her.

"I’m sorry, I had no idea..."

"Of course, you didn’t know, he hid it well enough. If I hadn’t overheard their conversation, I wouldn’t have noticed either." Leng Siling pulled at the corner of her mouth, her smile filled with helplessness.

She always felt that Chu Shuo was frivolous because he had someone in his heart, but she never thought that person would be Chi Yue.

After asking around these past few days, she learned about Chu Shuo and Chi Yue’s past. She didn’t blame Chi Yue, but rather regretted not meeting him before Chi Yue did.

There’s a first-come, first-serve order to everything, and she couldn’t change that.

When Chi Yue collected her thoughts, she said, "Sorry, I truly didn’t know about this and it’s not easy for me to comment. But I believe Chu Shuo has feelings for you, and you shouldn’t give up on him easily."

Leng Siling was still smiling, "Everyone around me tells me to give up on him, you’re the only one who says not to."

"You understand what kind of person Chu Shuo is better than I do. If he didn’t care for you, he certainly wouldn’t put up with everything." After a pause, she continued, "Chi Qingqing is an example. Leng Siling, you’re more important to him than anyone else, so don’t give up on him so easily."

It was unclear whether Leng Siling took her words to heart, as she didn’t bring up Chu Shuo again but instead asked about Fu Mianmian.

Chi Yue didn’t know what else to say.

At night, Chi Yue tossed and turned in bed.

Fu Rongyin hadn’t visited since the last time he left, and she sent him two messages to urge him to collect the divorce certificate. But the messages dropped into silence as though into a deep sea, without a ripple.

Thinking of Fu Mianmian’s request from the evening, Chi Yue sent another message to Fu Rongyin, saying that Fu Mianmian wanted to see him and asked him to come back.

Originally, Chi Yue wasn’t holding out much hope, because according to Nan Bingyu, after Xi Yihang arrived, Fu Rongyin had no spare time at all. Moreover, it seemed that Fan Xuesong had changed his strategy, pitting the two against each other.

However, when Chi Yue returned from work that day, she saw Fu Rongyin.

He stood to one side, watching Fu Mianmian play, with adoration nearly spilling from his eyes.

Chi Yue walked over, "Fu Rongyin, let’s talk."

Fu Rongyin turned around, his smile fading, "Alright."

The two moved to the side of the garden. Chi Yue spoke first, "When are you planning to go with me to pick up the certificate?"

Fu Rongyin looked at her, "Are you in a hurry?"

Chi Yue nodded, "Yes."

Fu Rongyin fell silent for a moment, then glanced at the time, "Next Monday."

Chi Yue managed a strained smile, "Okay, but I have a request. Don’t let Mianmian know about this."

Fu Rongyin nodded.

Before seeing him, Chi Yue had many questions she wanted to ask, but when they actually met, she realized those questions were no longer meaningful.

Back inside the house, Fu Rongyin returned to Fu Mianmian’s side, while Chi Yue went to call Grandma for dinner.

At this time, Grandma usually should have woken up.

Chi Yue pushed the door open, but found Grandma slumped in her wheelchair, apparently still asleep.

Chi Yue smiled, walked over, and gently called out to her, "Grandma, it’s time to get up for dinner."

Just as she touched Grandma’s hand, it fell limply downward, and without any sign of life, it lay by her side.
