Chapter 790 Using Their Own Tactics Against Them

Edward suddenly sat up in bed. He threw off the covers and got out of bed, catching a glimpse of an unusual color in the center of the sheets. He looked closely.

'What is that dark red stain?'

Edward was still a virgin, but seeing the bloodstain, he knew what it was. His face turned red with anger.

He yanked the covers back over the stain. He had really underestimated Madison.

Madison thought he really didn't know how messy her private life was and dared to pretend to be a virgin. Just thinking about how Madison had held him all night made him feel nauseous!

He turned and quickly walked into the bathroom, standing under the shower for half an hour until he finally felt clean.

He put on a bathrobe and walked out, seeing Madison sitting on the edge of the bed, looking at him shyly. "Edward, your clothes got dirty yesterday. I had a new set sent over. Try them on."

Edward glanced at Madison expressionlessly, walked over to pick up the clothes, and went back to the bathroom to change. When he emerged, he looked refined and handsome.

Madison was no longer in the bedroom, but the strong scent of roses still lingered. He frowned and walked out of the bedroom.

The smell of food wafted from the hallway. He walked into the living room and saw Madison sitting by the window, sunlight falling on her, her eyes bright and teeth white, smiling sweetly.

"Edward, come eat. I ordered your favorite food." Madison propped her chin on her hands, smiling brightly.

Edward pressed his lips together but still walked over and sat down across from her. He picked up a fork and started eating breakfast without lifting his head. Madison held her fork, watching Edward.

She absentmindedly poked at the shrimp in her bowl and casually brought up, "Last night, we..."

Edward gripped his fork tightly. He looked up, sunlight falling into his eyes, seemingly dispelling the darkness in them. He smiled and played along, "I'll take responsibility for you."

Madison was overjoyed. "Really?"

This outcome was beyond her expectations. Since Edward woke up, she had been anxious, afraid he would find out they hadn't actually done anything last night.

She had been so nervous, even thinking if Edward didn't acknowledge it, she would "die" to prove her innocence. But she didn't expect Edward to believe it so easily. Edward lowered his eyes and said indifferently, "Yes."

Madison was ecstatic. She put down her fork, got up, and rushed to hug Edward. "Edward, thank you. I will definitely be good to you."

Edward resisted the urge to push Madison away and said calmly, "Madison, you don't need to be good to me. I'll be good to you."

"No, I've liked you for so many years. Now that we can finally be together, I want to treat you well. I want to give you the best of everything." Madison said.

Edward's lips curled into a cold smile, a calculating glint in his eyes. "I believe you. You better live up to it."

"Of course, I love you the most." Madison looked up, her gaze falling from Edward's handsome face to his lips. Although she had staged the scene, they hadn't actually made love last night.

She had stared at Edward's lips all night, not daring to steal a kiss, afraid he would wake up and it would be awkward. Now that they had confessed to each other, she should be able to kiss Edward, right?

Seeing her close her eyes and pucker her lips, Edward's expression turned cold. Instead of a kiss, he took a piece of pastry and stuffed it into her mouth.

Madison felt something was off. Why did Edward's lips feel like this? She stuck out her tongue to lick it and tasted something sweet.

She opened her eyes abruptly and saw a cake in front of her. Her cheeks turned red in an instant. She glared at Edward in embarrassment.

Edward showed no expression, stuffing the cake into her mouth. "Madison, don't rush."

Madison took the cake out of her mouth, looking at Edward shyly. "Sorry, I'm just so happy. I couldn't control myself."

Edward ignored her and continued eating.

Madison was so overwhelmed with joy that even though she sensed Edward's cold attitude, she was still immersed in sweetness.

As long as Edward was willing to take responsibility for her, he would eventually marry

If she had known Edward was so easy to fool, she would have done this earlier, instead

of wasting years.

What a pity!

But it was not too late now.

After brunch, the two left the suite. As they took the elevator downstairs, Madison clung to Edward's arm, standing tall.

As they walked out of the elevator, it was lunchtime, and the lobby was bustling. Just

as they reached the door, they saw Phoebe and a young man walk in.

The four of them bumped into each other, their expressions varied.

Stanley's gaze swept from Edward's face to Madison's hand on his arm, then to Madison.

He raised an eyebrow at Phoebe, looking like he was watching a show.

Phoebe hadn't expected to see Edward and Madison here. Seeing them come out of the hotel at this time, looking so intimate, she knew what had happened.

She felt complicated but not a bit sad.

"Good afternoon," Phoebe said lightly. She and Edward had nothing to do with each other anymore. Whoever Edward was with had nothing to do with her.

But... she still felt Madison wasn't good enough for Edward. He deserved someone better.

Madison puffed out her chest, looking like a victor, and sneered at Phoebe, "Ms. Ziegler, Edward and I are together now. Will you give us your blessing?"

As soon as she said this, Edward's face instantly turned cold, but he didn't shake off her hand, looking at Phoebe indifferently.

She was still radiant today, unaffected by last night's proposal, while Edward had made

a fool of himself. It was truly ridiculous.

Stanley looked at Madison's smug expression, then at Edward staring at Phoebe. He sighed inwardly.

What a foolish woman. Showing off at this moment would only make Edward annoyed. Phoebe smiled. She really couldn't bring herself to say congratulations. Stanley noticed her difficulty and extended his hand to Edward. "Edward, long time no see." "Yes, it's been a while. You look the same as in college." Edward shook his hand, glancing at Phoebe. "We have things to do, so we won't disturb you."

"Let's catch up later." Stanley was very understanding.

Edward withdrew his hand, not looking at Phoebe again, and left the hotel with Madison.
