Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right

Chapter 1231

"I don't care. I'll make them return everything to you," Robert said.

Theda was at a loss for words. She stepped forward and propped up the unconscious Debra.

She said, "The shares don't matter to me at all. You didn't have to go this far. The situation in Seamar City is treacherous. I overestimated myself. We should take Debra back to them and end everything."

She reached for her phone to call Andrew, but Robert grabbed her wrist.

"What are you doing?" she sulked. "I've decided to stop fighting them. What you're doing is pointless and dangerous."

"It's not pointless," Robert said firmly. "I don't want to see you lose. To me, you'll never lose to anyone."

Without waiting for her response, he carried her over his shoulder and pocketed her phone.

"This is all my idea," he said. "Even if I fail, it has nothing to do with you. I've cut the phone lines in the house and locked the front door. Without the password, you can't leave. Just stay here and wait for my good news. I'll get the money within three days. Seamar City is where you've dreamed of conquering. I won't let you leave empty-handed."

Robert had been with Theda through her darkest days. He knew how hard she had worked to achieve everything she had.

He wouldn't let her give up, even if she wanted to.

At the Potter Mansion, the phone in the living room kept ringing, but no one picked it up.

Randy came running downstairs, grumbling, "Where did everyone go? Why isn't anyone answering the phone? Unbelievable."

He picked up the phone and asked impatiently, "Hello? Who is this?"

"Debra is with me. If you don't want her to die, transfer two billion into my account within 24 hours."

"What do you mean? Who are you?"

Before he could get a reply, the caller hung up.

Marion descended slowly. "Who was it?"

"Probably some scammer," Randy replied dismissively. "They said they have Debra and want two billion in 24 hours. Crazy, right? Debra wouldn't get caught so easily."

Alarmed, Marion rushed over to the phone and operated on it. Soon, it displayed the last incoming number.

He tensed up and bolted out the door without hesitation.

"Hey, where are you going?" Randy was baffled.

Debra had only been gone for half an hour. He didn't know why Marion got so worked up.

Erica appeared on the stairs, looking curious. "What's going on? Was it an important call?"

"It was a scam call," Randy replied

with a shrug. "Some idiot claimedet

they kidnapped Debra. Marion heard ran out."
