Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right

Chapter 1243

Theda shook her head. "I had the same doubt, but this is the truth. They spent years and countless resources chasing the treasures. Sometimes, I felt it wasn't worth it. But they did it anyway."

She smiled bitterly, "Honestly, I'm grateful to them. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't have been here today or even have met Robert. He is my lucky star."

Debra fell silent. She could relate. Becoming who she was today and meeting Marion were her greatest blessings. On top of that, she had made so many friends along the way.

Theda continued, "If you need our help on this journey, we'll do everything we can. But I'm selfish. I cherish this new life and would not risk it. I can only promise to help you if it doesn't endanger Robert or me."

"Alright," Debra nodded. "I'll agree to that."

"Thank you," Theda smiled.

Before long, they came back downstairs.

Theda helped Robert up from the sofa. "Now that everything's been said, can I take Robert and leave?"

"Go ahead." Debra nodded.

Erica's jaw dropped. "You're letting them go like that? What if..."

"I trust them," Debra replied.

Erica fell silent, unable to argue further.

Randy spoke up. "To be honest,

"Whose side are you on?" Erica slapped him on the arm. "He didn't hold back

"Oh, he didn't want to kill her, huh?" Erica retorted. "What he wanted was to use her to threaten Marion."

She turned to Debra. "Neither of them can be trusted. Be careful if you're going to work with them."

"Don't worry. I will," Debra reassured her.

"It's a secret," Debra replied, raising a finger to her lips.

Her answer only made Randy more curious. Erica, too, was intrigued. "Come on, what is it?"

Debra smiled, "Not just you. Can't tell Marion either."

Erica and Randy turned to look at Marion at the same time.

He shrugged. "If she doesn't speak, I won't ask."

Randy sighed, "We were counting on you to get it out of her. You're so whipped."
