Goodbye, Mr. Regret

Chapter 595

Her short animated videos online.

Her university graduation project.

Her drawings of The Grand Canal, Venice and Zimmerman Mansion, along with the awards and various works she'd received in college.

It wasn't until Timothy saw all this on his phone that he realized she had been telling the truth.

She was perfectly capable of making a living-of supporting herself without anyone's help.

Yet he had always seen her as delicate and helpless, assuming she couldn't survive without him, like a fragile flower dependent on a vine.

But with her own talent, she had quietly broken through, rising to the top of the animation world.

And what had he done? He hadn't helped her career in the slightest.

He'd even stood in her way when she wanted to work, all for the sake of Sheila's future.

He truly had no excuse.noveldrama

Mr. Smith sent Jessica a congratulatory email.

"You're incredible, Jess. You're my idol! My new movie is going to shine because of you."

"Mr. Smith, don't go overboard. I didn't even do that film. By the way, I still have a few finishing touches left on that character; I'll have them done soon. You're not in a rush, are you?"

"No rush at all. We still have time before the production deadline. Take it easy. I heard you're back in the country-when can you come by?"

"Soon. Just in the next few days, I think. By the time we meet again, my work should be wrapped up."

Mr. Smith replied immediately, "Can I book you for my next project? I'll take you international."

"I'll get back to you in a little while."

If she didn't find a matching donor, she wouldn't have much time left.

Her condition hadn't worsened for now, and she was still on medication.

But if the liver cells started to spread, things would turn dangerous quickly.

She didn't want to give anyone hope too early.

For the past three days, Vince had been running around trying to find a donor. So

far, they hadn't brought up the possibility with her parents.

Jessica wanted to hold off. Her parents were her absolute last resort.

After so many years away, unable to care for them, and watching her mother worry herself sick, she couldn't bring herself to come home only to burden them with he illness right away.

As for Herbert, she planned to tell him after the divorce papers were signed.

She couldn't just keep accepting his help endlessly, not like this.

After her call with Mr. Smith, Carlisle got in touch to invite her to the celebration party for their film breaking the billion-dollar mark.

Jessica longed to go, but lately, she'd felt her strength slipping away. The pain was coming more often, each wave sharper than the last.

[Carlisle, I'm really sorry-I won't be able to make it to the party. But my brother has prepared a special gift for everyone, and I'll have someone deliver it tonight. I'm so happy the film did so well. I hope you att go on to even greater things.]

Jessica had come to realize something profound: helping others was a way to fulfill herself.

Four months ago, when she was

diagnosed with cancer and given only six months to live, she thought she'@never live up to her mentor's or grandmother's expectations.

She never imagined that this film would allow her to resolve every regret she'd

ever had with both of them.

The movie was a hit.

She'd become famous.

Her paper cuttings had become famous, too.

Outside, a craze for paper cutting had already begun.

There were only two days left before she and Timothy would finalize their divorce.

Just one more day, and it would all be over.

At that moment, Jessica's phone rang.

It was Timothy.

She hadn't seen him since he woke up.

He hadn't reached out to her, either. If he was calling now, it could only be about the divorce.

Jessica answered.

Timothy's familiar voice drifted through the line.
