Chapter 502
Stephen lowered his gaze, but his eyes were still filled with the moonlight's glow that reflected a boundless tenderness. "The moon is very beautiful tonight," he murmured.
Tessa pressed her lips together, refusing to respond.
In the next second, Stephen leaned his head down and tried to kiss her. Tessa quickly moved her head away to dodge his lips. She whispered, "Calm down. Naomi and Sienna are next door. We're in an open-air pool, so it's not soundproof."
She tried to retreat but was forced to stop when Stephen tightened his grip around her waist. Their bodies were pressed even closer together-so close that Tessa could feel the changes that his body was going through. Her cheeks flushed a dark crimson, though it wasn't quite visible under the cover of night.
Stephen whispered into Tessa's ear in a sultry voice, "What are you afraid of? Isn't it more exciting this way?"
"You're insane." Tessa tried to push him away, but he didn't budge an inch.
"Don't worry. We just have to be quiet," he murmured, his voice already a little hoarse.
He didn't give Tessa a chance to speak. He tightened his hold on her waist once more while he used his free hand to grip her chin, not allowing her to hide from him. He then lowered his head and kissed her passionately.
Stephen held Tessa's chin in place. There was no space for her to avoid him, so she could only accept the kiss that he pressed to her lips. He was skilled at kissing and easily got Tessa drunk on the sensation. Her hands slid up from his chest as she stopped trying to push him away, moving to wrap around his neck.
Stephen picked Tessa up, continuing to kiss her while he pressed their bodies close together. He supported her weight by gripping her behind. Tessa spread her legs and wrapped them around his waist, coincidentally giving Stephen easy access to slide into her.
He let out a low moan as he did so, kissing her even more fervently. He kept his promise, rocking into her gently so their coupling remained relatively tame and quiet. Still, they were able to derive pleasure from his light and controlled movements.
Ripples radiated across the water's surface from where they were joined together. The sounds of splashing water were almost nonexistent in the garden.
...
One wall away, Naomi and Sienna were relaxing in the garden on a pair of lounge chairs, admiring the starry night sky as they chatted with each other.
Sienna asked, "How have things been with Quentin recently, Naomi?"
"He's been under a lot of pressure and has to entertain clients almost daily," Naomi answered, sounding a little dejected. "Although the two companies he established have been performing well, it's still been difficult for him to cover the significant lack of funds after Mary and Benjamin's divorce.
"After all, the companies' assets are independent from his own finances. He still has to follow the rules set by the companies when distributing the dividends, so when he finally receives his share, the amount is considerably lower compared to the actual revenue that the companies are bringing in."
"Let me know if there's anything I can help with," Sienna offered.
Naomi smiled. "Don't worry, I won't hold back if I need your help."
"What about you?" she continued. "How have things been with Hollis?"
Sienna's expression dimmed. Her voice had dropped low when she replied, "It's been the same. There haven't been any changes. He's as cold as always."
Dissatisfaction welled up within Naomi upon hearing Sienna's answer. Sienna was such a pretty and outstanding woman. So, how on earth did she end up as the one who had to chase after the man of her dreams, who was as cold as a block of ice?
Furthermore, Sienna had been in love with him for so many years, with nothing to show for it.
Naomi's heart clenched in pain just thinking about the hardships Sienna must have endured. "Haven't you met anyone new? Are you planning to chase after Hollis for the rest of your life?"
A man's face floated to the forefront of Sienna's thoughts at the mention of someone new-Torin Covington.
Sienna was brought back to that day when they were all gathered on Marissa's cruise ship. When they were playing King's Game, Sienna had chosen Torin as the target for her confession.
Sienna had only treated the
confession as part of the game, so she didn't think much of it. But a few days later, Torin confessed to her She had been stunned speechless by his sudden declaration, revealing that he had fallen in love with her at first sight many years ago.
She had rejected him. Even if her heart wasn't filled to the brim with Hollis, even if she didn't have anyone she was in love with, she would still have rejected him.
Although she had seen Torin once a long time ago, that was the extent of their acquaintanceship. She had only gotten to know him during dinner at Celesta after he returned to the country.
Though Sienna knew his name, Torin was essentially still a stranger to her.
Seeing how Sienna had entered a daze, Naomi could sniff out the scent of buried gossip. Her eyes glinted mischievously as she asked, "So you have met someone new! Hurry and tell me who it is. Is he someone I know?"
Sienna replied bashfully, "It's Torin. He confessed to me a few days ago."noveldrama
"Oh, what the fuck? That's huge!" Naomi exclaimed. "He's Quentin's friend, right?"
"Yes," Sienna replied, nodding her head.
What do you think?
