Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 836

Dr. Stone kept a cool demeanor, explaining with a straight face, "Alex, take it easy. This isn't your run-of-the-mill hypnosis. We're trying to embed new information into Mr. Everett's mind. But since he's pretty headstrong, he doesn't get influenced that easily. His brain needs time to gradually process the new data, which is why it's taking a bit longer."

Most of the technical stuff went over Alex's head, but she wasn't about to back down. She replied with a steely tone, "Don't try to sidestep me with that talk. It's been a whole day-24 hours since Mr. Everett last ate or drank. No one's body can handle being in a deep sleep for that long. You need to find a way to wake him up, pronto!"

Dr. Stone began to lose her patience, but Alex wasn't budging an inch.

"Alex, you said it yourself, you're not well-versed in this. Interrupting now could be risky. If he ends up with memory issues or worse, brain damage, are you ready to face the music? Can you handle that responsibility?"noveldrama

But Alex wasn't just anyone. She'd been by Everett's side for years, weathering the storms of the corporate jungle. Everett had personally shown her the ropes, and she was no pushover.

Sure, Alex might not know much about medicine, but she knew when something felt off.

Fed up with the back-and-forth, Alex clapped her hands. Two towering bodyguards strode into the room, taking positions behind her, eyes locked on Dr. Stone with an intimidating glare.

Dr. Stone was caught off guard, "What... what's the meaning of this?"

Alex smirked and stepped closer, gently but firmly gripping Dr. Stone's chin. Her tone was soft, yet the weight of her words was unmistakable.

"Whatever it takes, wake Mr. Everett up. Make sure there's no harm to his brain or body. You know what's at stake if things go south."

The bodyguards, backing up Alex, gave Dr. Stone a menacing look, flexing their muscles for emphasis.

Seeing this, Dr. Stone's previous confidence melted away. She'd assumed Alex was just a fragile

woman who wouldn't pose much of a threat. Clearly, she'd

underestimated her.

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Dr. Stone relented, "Alright, I'll give it my best shot."

In the university auditorium,

students packed the seats while media personnel with cameras aimed at the stage. The school was pulling out all the stops this year for some positive press, and of course, to drum up donations. They'd invited some big-shot alumni from the

Whether it was planned or pure chance, Selena and Joy were seated next to each other in the center, with the other two alumni on the ends.

After detailing each alumni's achievements, the host announced their generous donations to their alma mater.

Selena led the pack with a $5 million donation.

Joy followed with $1 million.

The other two alumni each contributed $500,000.

These funds would go towards

underprivileged students. Every year, thank to these contributions, countless students graduate and make their mark on the world.
