Chapter 1148
Time—yes, that didn't stop. As the days, weeks, and months passed, Theo and Fiona's baby was born, and so was Maximus and Diana's.
Theo and Fiona had a beautiful little girl who was the spitting image of Fiona. She inherited those big, gorgeous eyes and thick lashes. For the new father, seeing his little one in her mother's arms was a huge relief, because clearly, getting pregnant at their age hadn't been easy.
Especially with the memory of Amanda still fresh-young, healthy, and suddenly gone, leaving behind a grieving father and daughter.
Maximus and Diana had a beautiful baby boy, who looked just like Maximus. He never said it out loud, but he was incredibly grateful that both his wife and child made it through the pregnancy safely.
Amanda's loss hadn't just devastated Lucius-it also served as a painful reminder that pregnancy doesn't always end well. A pregnant woman is always at risk, no matter how young or healthy she is.
Those joyful moments were good-but not quite enough. Not when Lucius was now living with the Moriartys and barely spoke to anyone.
If anyone knew how he was doing, it was thanks to Angela, who always looked out for little Amanda and Lucius. Who would've thought that when Anthony Moriarty made that deal with Alexia, his life would change by agreeing to care for and protect Lucius?
"Lucius, sweetheart... How are you guys doing?" Angela asked, bringing a bottle of formula out to the garden where he was with his daughter.
"We're good, just stepped out to get some sun," Lucius said calmly as he rocked his daughter in his arms.
"Lucius, honey... Come on, sit with me for a bit. Little Amanda's already asleep, go ahead and lay her down in her bassinet," Angela said with that calm and patient tone only she had.
"What's going on, Angela?" Lucius asked, curious.
"My dear... It's been eight months since Amanda came into our lives, and I feel like you've put your life on pause. I know we're not in a rush, especially with this little angel around, but... what are you thinking about your future? Do you have any plans yet?
Anthony told me you decided to pause school, and that's fine. But what's next? Tell me do you have any plans?"
Angela and her husband had already talked about it. Lucius had mentioned to Moriarty before that he was planning to leave.
He explained that as long as he stayed there, the memories wouldn't let him move on. He was looking for peace, some way to finally find calm-and he knew he wouldn't find it if he stayed.
He wanted to let go of his wife, but as long as he remained in the places she had been, he couldn't do it. That's why he planned to move with his daughter to a place where o one knew who he was-somewhere nothing and no one would remind him of this painful chapter.

Lucius wanted to leave this part of his life behind-in Valentia-and start over somewhere else. He wanted be okay, for himself and, more importantly, for his daughter. He knew raising a baby alone wouldn't be easy, but not impossible. He'd already thought through where he wanted to go.
"Moriarty already told you, didn't he?" Lucius asked, guessing what Angela was getting at.
"Yeah... more or less..."
"What do you think?"
"At first, just the thought of it broke my heart, but... if I put myself in your shoes, I guess it's not as crazy as it sounds. Where do you want to go?"
"Hesperia..."
"Hesperia? What's in Hesperia?" Angela asked, curious.
"Amanda told me it was a good place. She lived there as a kid, so I want to take our daughter to one of the places her mom thought was special."
"Lucius, sweetheart... but isn't that the same as what you have here?" she said, a little surprised.
"No, here I have memories with her. But that place I could only imagine it when she told me about it. If I go, I'll finally know what she meant when she described it..."
"Lucius... are you sure about this? I mean, we help you take care of Amanda here, and sure, she's getting bigger every day, but..."
"Don't worry! know I can handle it. Besides, I've been with her this whole time, and if something ever comes up that I don't know how to handle I'll just call you and-boom! Just like you always do, you tell me what to do..." noveldrama
"But... it's different here. We're just a few doors away. If you leave, we'll have an entire ocean between us..."
"It won't be that bad. And hey, you used to visit me when I lived almost at the end
of the world without complaining-why not now?"
"Now you have a baby, and I worry about her. You-whatever-but that little one..."
What do you think?
