Ethan always reminded him of the things they used to do together. It filled his heart and sometimes even made him tear up—not from sadness, but from nostalgia for a past that no longer felt real or present.

In his talks with Theodore, they both agreed that life had given them a second chance.

For Peter, life gave him a woman who loved him with all his strengths and flaws, two beautiful daughters he'd seen born, an excellent son, and a wonderful grandson who constantly reminded him of the man he used to be.

Peter had lost his memories, a great love-someone he completely forgot. He lost a beautiful story that could've been. But he didn't regret his present.

Theodore had lost time. Now he was the father of two and married to a beautiful woman, but he knew life could take it all away at any moment. He wasn't eternal. He wouldn't get to see his daughter grow up or Adam's sons become men. Still, he was grateful for the time life gave him to be happy.

"Peter? Love?" Celeste said, waving her hand in front of his eyes.

"Sorry, sorry I got lost in thought..." Peter replied with a smile.

"Yeah! We noticed!" Danielle said with a grin.

"How about we go on a picnic tomorrow? We'll pack lunch and go to that spot we found today," Peter said cheerfully.

"Where we found the flowers that Aunt Celeste likes?" Ellie asked excitedly.

"Exactly!" Peter said, smiling.

"YEEESSS!" Ellie shouted, thrilled.

"Well, I don't see why not. But let's eat early. Look at the time-it's almost bedtime," Celeste said, looking lovingly at Peter.

Peter, who never missed a chance to touch her, took her hand and kissed it. Aria, watching her son, felt joy at seeing such displays of affection-it was obvious that Peter had no doubts about the life he shared with Celeste.

The meal was pleasant once the babies calmed down, especially after seeing their plates full of food. After they ate, Peter and Celeste cleaned the faces of their little troublemakers and took them to nap-it was siesta time.

Aria, Danielle, and Ellie were visiting, which felt like a vacation for Celeste and Peter, since they refused to hire help around the house. Six extra hands made a big difference.
