No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Noelle's mood lifted when she saw the look on Xenia's face. It was clear that Xenia was unhappy about her return to the Liddell family, especially now that Frank, Blake, and Lucas were all on her side. However, that was exactly the effect Noelle wanted.

Donovan's expression hardened at Xenia's question.

Before he could respond, Frank said, "Donovan, didn't you say that the family should stay together? We've had our conflicts, but now that Noelle is willing to make peace and Lucas and Blake are fine, can't we all take a step back?"

Xenia was unwilling to give in. "Frank, Noelle agreed to reconcile out of nowhere. Don't you think she has an ulterior motive?"

Xenia couldn't let Noelle return and take her place in the family, no matter what.

Blake pointed at Xenia and scolded, "You're just a driver's daughter. Who are you to question this? Do you think you could take Noelle's place in the Liddell family if she didn't come back? Dream on!"

Did Xenia really think Blake couldn't see through her schemes?

Tears gathered in Xenia's eyes. She turned to Donovan.

"Donovan, I never wanted to replace Noelle. I just feel that since she used to hate the Liddell family, her sudden change of heart must mean something."

Donovan scolded Blake. "Xenia's father died saving our parents. She has always been treated like a lady of the family. She has no reason to compete with Noelle."

Blake sneered. "Donovan, the Liddell family has done more than enough for Xenia. Wasn't her father the reason the accident even occurred? What did he ever do for our family?"

Noelle's expression shifted. "What do you mean by that?"

Did Blake know something? Xenia was startled and hurried to explain, "Blake, what are you saying? My father died in that car accident! What does that have to do with him?"

Her heart pounded anxiously. Did Blake know her father was still alive?

Noelle walked up to Blake and asked seriously, "What really happened in that accident?"

Blake continued, "How could the accident have happened if Xenia's father hadn't been driving carelessly? Doesn't he bear some responsibility?"

Noelle's heart sank. That wasn't the answer she was looking for.

Xenia secretly sighed in relief. It was fine as long as Blake didn't know the truth about her father.

"I did," Donovan admitted. "But there could be other explanations. Maybe he panicked. But there's no point in digging deeper now that he's gone." Donovan had looked into it and found the real culprit was the reckless driver. Noelle suddenly spoke. "What if the brakes had already been tampered with?" If Xenia's father was still alive, then maybe he had done something to the car. Xenia refuted, "That's impossible! My father would have checked. Even if the brakes were faulty, it had nothing to do with him. He died, too!"
