Chapter 563
Chapter 563:
All because of Khloe, he had thrown their years of friendship aside without a second thought.
The realization sent a surge of fury and despair coursing through her. Her voice quivered as she asked, “Henrik, do all our years of friendship mean nothing to you?”noveldrama
Henrik’s eyes narrowed further. “I’m already being merciful. Out of respect for your mother, I’m showing you leniency. If it weren’t for that, I wouldn’t just send you to prison—I’d leave you out here and use every means to make you wish you were dead. Khloe is my fiancée. Anyone who dares to hurt her should prepare to pay the ultimate price of death.”
“The last person who dared to harm Khloe is already dead,” Henrik’s voice was cold and unyielding, carrying a dark, menacing intent directed straight at Sheri.
Sheri stumbled backward, intimidated by Henrik. Her face drained of color, as though struck by a bolt of lightning, the force of his words leaving her weak and trembling. What spell had Khloe cast on him to make him threaten her like this? Sheri’s thoughts were consumed by the sting of defeat. She wanted to argue, to insist that Khloe was unworthy of his attention, but the words caught in her throat.
Tears stung her eyes, but Henrik didn’t seem to care at all.
Just as the tension became unbearable, Whitney appeared.
Her gown, a deep shade of purple, draped elegantly over her frame, its color enhancing her dignified grace and adding a layer of mature sophistication to her presence. The moment she entered, the heavy, awkward atmosphere dissipated like a gentle breeze.
Sheri, seizing the moment, quickly nestled herself beside Whitney, her eyes reddened, feigning the role of a wronged victim. Internally, she hoped Whitney would take her side, expecting her to demand Khloe’s expulsion, making it clear to the entire family that Khloe was unwelcome and ensuring no one would respect her.
However, Whitney saw through Sheri’s thinly veiled intentions. Without hesitation, she turned to Henrik and Khloe. “Come in. Don’t stand outside.”
Sheri’s eyes widened in disbelief, her gaze fixed on her mother.

Ignoring Sheri completely, Whitney led Khloe and Henrik inside. Upon entering, Khloe and Henrik found the living room filled with people. Middle-aged women, their expressions haughty, sat on the sofas, while men in suits exchanged serious glances. Young men and women filled the space, chatting amongst themselves.
Khloe raised an eyebrow, surprised. She had expected a small meeting with Whitney and Sheri, not an entire family gathering. This confirmed that something important was at play.
As Khloe stepped further inside, every eye turned to her, their gazes critical, evaluating, and whispering among themselves.
“Is this Khloe? She looks like a seductress! No wonder she can completely captivate men, using her charms as her weapon.”
“She’s no simple woman. Clearly manipulative—anyone who gets involved with her is asking for trouble.”
“Look at her. She probably thinks strolling through that door will elevate her status. How ridiculous.”
The venomous whispers buzzed around Khloe, designed to humiliate. Yet she stood tall, a silent strength emanating from her. Not a single word could pierce her composed exterior, as if the world’s judgments held no weight on her shoulders. Sheri’s momentary sense of victory dissolved in an instant. Her anger simmered as she glared at Khloe.
“Since everyone’s here, let’s move to the dining room,” Whitney said casually, as if she hadn’t heard the barrage of insults aimed at Khloe.
Everyone rose and began to move toward the dining room.
Sheri’s eyes gleamed with dark satisfaction, her lips curling into a sinister smile. She couldn’t wait to see how Khloe would embarrass herself under the strict protocols of the Dayton family.
