Chapter 572
Chapter 572:noveldrama
Khloe’s eyes settled on the piano, unflinching. Naomi sneered again, “What’s the matter, Khloe? Never seen a piano like this before? Let me enlighten you—it’s a customized one worth twenty million dollars. This might be the only chance you ever get to touch something this valuable.”
Instead of taking offense, Khloe’s lips curled into a cold smile. “Does playing a twenty-million-dollar piano automatically make you the best pianist in the world?”
“You…” Naomi didn’t know how to retort.
Khloe’s calm demeanor didn’t waver as she pressed on. “Or are you so confident in this piano’s price tag that you think you can just beat me as long as you play it?”
Naomi’s face flushed with anger.
Ignoring Naomi’s fuming presence, Khloe turned her attention back to the matter at hand. “Enough with the pointless talk. How’s the competition going to work? How will we decide the winner? And who is the judge?”
Unlike recitation, where memory alone could secure victory, piano required evaluation by knowledgeable judges. Fairness wasn’t just a preference—it was a necessity.
Naomi’s response came quickly, her tone defensive. “It’s simple. Each of you will perform a piece, and we’ll act as judges. Sure, none of us are as skilled as Letty, but we can still tell who’s better.”
Gloria frowned, her disapproval evident. “That’s not fair. You’re all connected to the Dayton family. If you’re the judges, the outcome will just be whatever you decide.”
“Are you accusing us of being biased?” Naomi glared at Khloe. “If you don’t have the guts to compete, just admit it!”
Khloe scoffed. “Fairness aside, do you even have the audacity to call yourselves judges? With your shallow understanding of piano, you’re not even qualified.”
The moment those words left Khloe’s lips, the others’ expressions changed.

But Khloe stood unshaken as she continued, “Since this is a piano competition, let’s invite Letty’s mentor, Zander Pierce, one of the most respected maestros in the piano world, to serve as judge.”
Letty’s eyes narrowed in disbelief as she turned to Khloe. “I don’t know about your piano skills, but my mentor isn’t someone who can be summoned so casually.”
Her words carried the unmistakable implication that Khloe wasn’t qualified to even utter Zander’s name.
Unbothered by the remark, Khloe arched her brows with an air of elegance. “Having Mr. Pierce judge ensures the competition is fair. Besides, I don’t trust any of you to be impartial.”
Her smile turned razor-sharp. “To eliminate any bias, Mr. Pierce will judge remotely, without knowing the identity of the performers.”
The suggestion would guarantee fairness.
Letty was utterly frustrated. She had never anticipated Khloe would dare to make such a bold and outrageous suggestion.
Ignoring her, Khloe turned her attention to Sheri. “If we want this competition to proceed smoothly, you should contact Mr. Pierce now.” Khloe knew Sheri wouldn’t refuse, since Sheri was banking on her failure and was eager to see her humiliated.
As predicted, Sheri agreed and quickly called Zander, explaining the blind judging arrangement.
Given Sheri’s status, Zander obliged without hesitation.
To ensure anonymity, Naomi gave Letty her instructions without naming her directly. “You’ll go first.”
