She's the Campus Prince

Chapter 696

"Ms. Yates, is it true that the little boy is still alive?"

"Ms. Yates, what do you think their motives were for trying to extort you? Did you offend someone?"

"Ms. Yates..."

Before they could finish speaking, Cameron had already walked into the lobby, ignoring their questions.

The security guards blocked the reporters outside.

Bradley quickly caught up with Cameron.

David stayed behind to take care of the follow-up.

Milena, sitting in the black sedan, watched the scene unfold and slammed her fists on the steering wheel in frustration.

"Damn it!" she muttered.

Originally, she had thought she would get to see Cameron in a miserable state, condemned by everyone.

But instead, Bradley never left her side, shielding her from everything, and Cameron came out of it without a scratch.

What really got under Milena's skin was that Cameron had instantly exposed her plot.

Of course, the little boy was still alive.

He really did have leukemia, but after taking the miracle medicine developed by Cameron, his condition was getting better day by day.

The boy's family was struggling financially. Before Cameron's medicine came

along, he had been undergoing chemotherapy all along.

The sky-high medical bills had already left the family drowning in debt.

So when Milena approached the middle-aged woman and offered her a hefty sum

to frame Cameron, it only took the woman a few days to say yes.

When someone's backed into a corner, things like conscience and morals just go out the window.

Soon, the police and an ambulance arrived.

Milena kept her face stony, her eyes cold as ice as she glared at the building.

If she couldn't bring Cameron down this time, then she'd just wait for the next

round. There would always be another chance.

She didn't worry about the police tracing anything back to her.

She'd made sure to meet the woman somewhere with no cameras, went in full

disguise, and handed over the 3,000 dollars in cash.

No matter how hard they tried, they'd never be able to pin this on her.

Milena, unwilling to accept defeat, started the car and drove away.

Cameron headed straight back to her office..

Bradley followed her.

He brewed a cup of coffee for Cameron and handed it to her, concern in his eyes. "Cam, are you alright?" he asked softly.

Cameron accepted the cup, smiling at him, "Don't worry, Brad. It's no big deal."

Hearing her words, Bradley finally relaxed. He gently ruffled her hair. "It's okay. I'll handle the rest," he assured her.

Cameron raised her coffee cup. "Thanks, Brad."

Bradley smiled, "Cam, no need to thank me. This is what I'm here for."

Cameron looked at his eyes and smiled.

Bradley asked, "Cam, what did you think of the house we just saw?"

'Honestly, I thought it was pretty good-the location, the size, even the style, all of

it was really nice, Bradley thought secretly.

Cameron nodded. "It's great."

Bradley smiled slightly, "If you like it, I'll buy it. It'll be our home when we get married."

Cameron blinked and said, "Brad, isn't it a bit early for that?"noveldrama

Bradley said softly, "Doesn't matter, we'll need a place sooner or later anyway."

Cameron couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle.

Soon, the police had an update.

The middle-aged woman had accepted money to frame Cameron.

But since they couldn't identify the mastermind behind her, the woman was taken straight into custody.

Bradley adjusted his glasses and asked, "Cam, have you pissed anyone off lately?"

Cameron thought for a moment, then shook her head and said firmly, "No."

For the past few years, she'd been holed up in the lab, barely dealing with anyone outside.

Even Amelia and Elijah she hardly ever saw them.

They only managed to meet once a month at most - and that was if she was free. Often, it would be two or three months before they met each other again.

She was so busy, how would she even have time to offend anyone?

David frowned. "Even if you did offend someone, they shouldn't resort to such dirty tricks."

After complaining, David warned Cameron, "Ms. Yates, it looks like someone's really out for blood. You need to be extra careful these days."
