“The spaghetti is getting cold.” Bryan had been sitting there for a while, and his expression turned concerned as he watched Eileen engrossed with her phone, neglecting her food.

If he’s willing, we could help him go back to school. And even though he has a criminal record, his exceptional abilities and degree would open doors to many job opportunities.”

“He needs our help, he will contact us,” Bryan replied with a serious expression. “However, he has chosen not to reach out. At this point, the only thing we can do is respect his decision.”

Eileen’s heart sank. “Did he contact you? Did he say something?” She sensed Bryan’s hesitance, and his tone suggested there was more to the story than he was letting on.

Bryan knew Eileen could see through him, especially after all the time they had spent together. Her intuition was remarkably sharp, particularly in certain situations.

“If Milford really needs anything, he will contact us. Trust me,” Bryan said.

Suddenly, Eileen lost her appetite. She had only half a plate of spaghetti, but now, she wasn’t in the mood to eat anymore. She pushed the plate away and stood up. “Okay, then I’ll wait for him to contact us.”

Noticing Eileen’s lack of appetite, Bryan silently sighed and put away the plate. He then pulled out his phone to call Raymond, seeking an update on Milford’s whereabouts.

“If I didn’t know better, I would think Milford is a spy,” Raymond said. “He occasionally pops up on camera in different locations, but it’s unclear if he’s intentionally evading us or genuinely on the move. To make matters worse, he’s been deleting the most useful surveillance footage.”

In other words, none of the men Raymond had sent to look for Milford had been able to track him down.

“Keep looking for him,” Bryan ordered in a low voice before hanging up the phone.

He then noticed there was an unread message on WhatsApp from an unknown number.

“Hey Bryan, don’t forget that our college reunion is in three days. Make sure to be there!”
