Now, Bailee was set on going ahead with IVF, hoping that having a baby would earn Winona’s full acceptance. If Ruby showed she felt for Bailee, it would only undermine Bailee’s determination.

“I know, I’m just being emotional with you. I won’t mention any of this to Bailee,” Ruby said with a soft smile. The ceremony wrapped up quickly, as the earlier situation had put a damper on the mood. People left early, and as they did, Eileen monitored the online chatter from the car.

Presley and Colby’s divorce had been finalized, and the media portrayed Presley’s circumstances as bleak. She had left the marriage empty-handed, lost custody of her child, and vanished without a trace.
