Shunned By An Alpha, Cherised By A Lycan

Chapter 246

Chapter 246:

Her voice trembled, a whisper edged with terror. “I won’t let them take you.”

Her words were reassuring, fragile yet unbreakable. I watched her eyes, wide and desperate, dart toward the door as if expecting someone to burst in at any moment.noveldrama

“They’ll come for you. The Luna Queen mother… she’ll take you and…” She closed her eyes, the anguish so deep it tore at my soul. “I can’t let that happen.”

A new wave of tears spilled down her cheeks. She looked like she was drowning in her own fear, like it was a living thing consuming her from the inside out. My heart thudded painfully. I wanted to reach out, to touch her, to comfort her, but my hands were nothing more than a ghost’s in this vision.

She whispered words that felt like a prayer and a curse all at once. “Forgive me, my little one. I have to keep you safe. I have to trust someone who can protect you.”

A sound—the creak of a door—made her jump. Her eyes shot toward the noise, her arms instinctively curling around the baby. Me. A shiver ran through me, even in this dream, as if I could feel her terror seeping into my bones.

The door opened wider, and another figure stepped into the room. A woman with cold eyes and a practiced, serene smile. Luna Anna. My breath caught in my throat. No. Not her. Don’t trust her.

But my mother didn’t see the danger. She saw a friend, a lifeline in her moment of despair.

“Please, Anna,” my mother begged, her voice trembling. “I need you to take her. Hide her. Keep her safe. She can’t stay here, not with the Viper Pack’s blood in her veins. The Queen mother will destroy her.”

Luna Anna stepped forward, her expression softening into something that looked like sympathy. But even in this dream, I could sense the shadows behind her eyes, the secrets hidden there.

“I’ll take care of her,” Anna said, her voice smooth, too smooth. “I promise.”

My mother hesitated, her instincts warring with her desperation. Her eyes, wild with fear, searched Anna’s face for a flicker of truth, a guarantee that her baby would be safe. And, oh, how I wanted to scream, to shake her, to warn her of the betrayal lurking beneath that calm facade. But I couldn’t.

She took a shaky breath and nodded. “I’m trusting you, Anna. You’re the only one I can turn to.”

Anna’s smile widened, her eyes glinting with a promise I knew was false. “You’re doing the right thing.”

My mother kissed the baby’s forehead—kissed me—and a tear fell onto my tiny cheek. A part of my soul fractured as I watched her place me into Anna’s waiting arms. The loss in her eyes was unbearable, a chasm of grief and love too deep to fathom. Then the scene shifted.

A roar of fury thundered through the room. The walls shook, the air crackling with power and rage. My vision swirled, the darkness coalescing into the imposing figure of the Viper Alpha. His eyes blazed with uncontained fury, his fists clenched so tightly that blood dripped from his palms.

“You hid my child from me?” he bellowed, his voice shaking the very ground beneath us. “You dared to keep her away?”

My mother stood before him, her body trembling, but her chin lifted in defiance. “I had to protect her! The Queen mother would have killed her, and you know it.”

He snarled, his teeth flashing dangerously. “She’s the firstborn of Viper blood. The power she holds—she’s worth more than any offspring I will ever have. And you hid her from me?”

She took a step back, her arms wrapped around herself as though trying to shield the emptiness where her child once was. “You can’t have her. She’s gone now. Safe. Away from all of this.”
