Chapter 248
Chapter 248:
“Jasmine?” His voice was soft, concerned. “What is it?”noveldrama
I swallowed hard, my heart thundering in my chest. How was I supposed to explain what I’d seen? How could I put into words the realization that my entire life had been built on a foundation of deception?
“My voice trembled. “I saw her, Ryder. My mother. My real mother.”
His eyes widened, his brows drawing together in confusion. He didn’t speak, waiting for me to continue, his patience a lifeline I desperately needed.
“In my dream,” I began, my voice barely above a whisper, “I saw everything. My mother… she was terrified. She knew the Luna Queen mother would come for me, that they’d try to destroy me because of my bloodline. She gave me away to protect me.”
I paused, my throat tightening, the tears finally spilling down my cheeks.
“She trusted Luna Anna,” I choked out, the name bitter on my tongue. “But it was a lie. Anna betrayed her. She took me, not to protect me, but to hide me away. To keep me from who I really am.”
Ryder’s jaw clenched, his eyes darkening with anger. His grip on my hand tightened protectively, as though he could shield me from the past itself.
“The Viper Alpha,” I continued, my voice trembling, “he didn’t know. When he found out, he was furious. But by then, it was too late. They told him I was kidnapped from the orphanage. He thought I was lost forever.”
I looked up at Ryder, the pain in my chest almost unbearable. “I’m not who I thought I was. I’m not Jasmine, the girl raised by Luna Anna. I’m the daughter of a Viper Alpha. I was stolen, lied to, and hidden away.”
Ryder cupped my face gently, his thumb brushing away my tears. His eyes burned with a fierce determination. “It doesn’t matter where you came from, Jasmine. What matters is who you are now, and you are mine. I don’t care about the bloodlines or the lies they’ve fed you. You’re stronger than any of them ever gave you credit for.”
A sob escaped my lips, and I leaned into his touch, his warmth grounding me.
“But it changes everything,” I whispered. “Everything I’ve ever known… it was all a lie.”

“No.” Ryder’s voice was firm, unyielding. “The people who lied to you, who hurt you—they don’t get to define who you are. We’ll figure this out together. You’re not alone in this.”
He pressed his forehead to mine, his breath mingling with mine, steady and sure. “You have me, Jasmine. Always.”
A shiver ran through me, not from fear, but from the overwhelming sense of relief that, despite everything, I wasn’t facing this darkness alone. Ryder was here.
Maybe, just maybe, with him by my side, I could untangle the threads of my shattered past.
I took a deep breath, my fingers curling around his hand. “Thank you,” I whispered. “For being here. For not giving up on me.”
“Never,” he promised, his voice a vow etched into my soul. “We’ll get through this. Together.”
I held his hands, hoping never to let go. The Moon Goddess knows how much I love this man.
Even if he had kidnapped me, I’m glad I’m with him. I’m glad he made those terms. I’m more than ecstatic.
By the Moon Goddess, I would have still been living in lies. I would have been groomed to do what? To fight beside the grumpy Jason? Layla was still quiet. I could feel her, but only her whimpers. Revenge is certain, and it’s best served cold.
