I lifted my gaze to meet his.

"You say you're not pressuring me," I countered, "but you made it a condition to save my brother."

His expression darkened. "Of course, it's my condition. If I didn't set terms, would you ever consider being with me? You've spent the last six years shutting every man out-so tell me, how else am I supposed to get a chance?"

Frustration bubbled inside me as I ran a hand through my hair. "So you are forcing me."

He gave a small nod, then abruptly turned on his heel.

"Hey! Where are you going?" I called out as he walked toward his car. A wave of panic hit me-what if he refused to help my brother after this?

Grayson paused and glanced back at me.

"I got my answer," he said simply. "It's your life. I won't force you."
