Chapter 1527
Cassie, upon hearing this, cast a wary glance at his sister. "Go out? For what?"
He still remembered her mentioning finding him a school yesterday.
Mirabella was busy texting on her phone without looking up. "You'll know when we get there."
Cassie touched his nose, feeling a bit uneasy. "Can I not go?"
Mirabella just glanced at him and, without a word, turned and walked outside.
Seeing this, Cassie dared not object and quickly got up to follow Mirabella.
Soon, Mirabella parked the car outside the police station.
Cassie looked at the police station sign through the car window. Although he didn't understand why his sister had brought him here, he didn't dare to ask too many questions and quickly got out of the car.
Atlas was already waiting at the entrance of the police station. When he saw Mirabella, he came over and nodded respectfully, "Miss Mira."
His eyes curiously swept past the young man behind her.
He was quite handsome, and standing there with Miss Mira, they indeed looked like siblings.
Mirabella nodded, greeted Atlas, then pointed at Cassie without much explanation, "Cassie Davis."
Atlas looked at Cassie, smiled kindly at him without asking further, and then handed over the family register he had just retrieved from his bag, "Miss Mira, this is what you wanted."
Mirabella took the family register, flipped through it briefly, then closed it. "Thank you for your efforts."
Atlas shook his head with a smile, "It's nothing. The staff inside have already made the arrangements; they're just waiting to take the photo for the ID now."
After saying this, he led the way.
Mirabella had just taken a step when Cassie tugged at the hem of her dress. She turned around, "What's wrong?"
Cassie's eyes, bright as water, glanced at the family register in
Mirabella's hand, then back at net
face 'So, you brought me here to get a new identity, huh?"
Mirabella raised an eyebrow, "What else?"
Cassie coughed slightly, letting go of his sister's dress hem, "The name Cassie
Davis sounds a bit plain, but I'll just barely accept it."
Mirabella gave him a look, not believing his feigned acceptance if it weren't for the slight smile on her lips.
They quickly entered the police station's fobby, where Atlas took Cassie to have his photo taken and fingerprints recorded. Mirabella didn't follow inside but waited outside.
Standing in a corner, she took out her phone to check it.
When she opened Messenger, she saw a friend request.
Recognizing the nickname, a hint of surprise crossed Mirabella's eyes, and she quickly accepted the request.
After a moment, Mirabella typed and sent two words: "Nellie?"
Nellie: "Yes."
The reply was brief, typical of the tribal chief's style. Mirabella's lips slightly pursed as she typed, "Are you well?"
Nellie, her eyes softening, took a moment before typing back: "Very well."noveldrama
"That's good." Mirabella pondered for a moment, then sent another message: "By the way, Nellie, Cassie is with me."
Nellie: "I know."
Mirabella tapped on the screen, adding: "I'm thinking of sending him to school, to live the life a person his age should have. What do you think?"
Nellie looked at her phone, her heart suddenly feeling a bit bitter. She looked up, taking a while before replying: "Fine."
Mirabella knew the tribal chief well; cold on the outside but warm inside. However, she was especially strict with Cassie, having been very strict with him since he was little and never allowing him to step outside.
She had even once wondered if the boy was her own child.
What do you think?
