The Heartbreak Prescription

Gilbert raised the knife and lunged toward Halsey’s stomach.

Chelsea laughed with joy. She had finally gotten what she wanted Halsey and the baby would be gone from her life for good!

Just as Gilbert’s blade was about to strike, a small rock suddenly flew through the air and hit his hand square on.

“Argh!” Gilbert cried in pain, and the knife clattered to the ground “What the hell just happened?”

Both Gilbert and Chelsea turned around at the same time, just in time to see the warehouse door get kicked open.

A group of officers stormed in.

“Hands up! Don’t move!”

The police had arrived-the authorities actually showed up!

This sudden turn of events left Gilbert and Chelsea stunned.

Still trying to recover, Gilbert shouted, “Where is everyone?! Where are my men?”

The black-clad bodyguards had already been forced to the ground. Mr. Greenwood, we’ve been surrounded!”

“What?!”

Surrounded? How was this possible?

Gilbert couldn’t believe what he was hearing. They had planned every detail. The location was remote, and nobody should have

known about this.

So how did the police find them?

“Put your hands up now!”

Two officers rushed over and grabbed Gilbert and Chelsea. Another officer moved quickly to untie Halsey’s wrists.

Chelsea turned to Halsey, eyes full of hate. “What the hell is going on? Why are the cops here?”

Halsey gave a cold laugh. “You thought your plan was flawless, and no one would know. But the police are here and have you

surrounded.”

Gilbert narrowed his eyes. “What did you

do?”

Just then, a deep, steady voice rang out. “Gilbert! Chelsea! noveldrama

Gilbert and Chelsea looked up. When they saw who it was, both of them gasped.

Chelsea’s voice trembled in disbelief. “Sh-Shaun?”

Shaun stepped inside with Warren by his side.

Chelsea’s voice cracked. “What are you two doing here?”

Gilbert couldn’t believe it. “This is impossible! No one knew where this place was! How did you find us?”

Warren stormed forward and slapped Chelsea across the face. The hit knocked her head to the side, and blood dripped from the corner of her lips.

She turned back with a shaky voice. “I can explain-

Warren sneered, “Fine. Here’s your chance. Go ahead and explain why you’re here with Gilbert.”

Chelsea’s mind raced. It felt like all the blood in her body had frozen. “I—”

TEA

“Keep lying! Go on! With that level of acting, you should’ve won an Oscar by now! I treated you like my best friend, and you used me like a fool. You’re nothing but selfish and cruel!”

Shaun rushed over to Halsey and wrapped her in his arms. “Are you hurt?”

She shook her head gently. “I’m okay. Don’t worry.”

Shaun placed his hand protectively on her belly. “Is the baby alright?”

Halsey smiled. “We’re both fine.”

Shaun’s voice held a hint of guilt. “I never should’ve agreed to it. I never should’ve gone along with your plan.”

“Plan?”

That one word hit Gilbert and Chelsea like a shockwave.

They stared at Halsey. “What plan?”

Halsey gave a cold smirk. “It’s exactly what it sounds like. Shaun and I faked everything. We’ve been acting the whole time, just to get you two to show your true colors.”

Gilbert and Chelsea suddenly realized what had just happened.

“You two…”
