The Heiress Nobody Saw Coming (Natalie and Marcus)

Chapter 553 Pure Torment Without Escape

Kenton soon finished beating her and roughly dragged Yvette back onto the bed, forcing her to keep watching the television screen.

The screen repeatedly played footage of the fire that had burned the Jenkins residence to ashes and the scene of wild dogs digging up the Jenkins family's graves.

The more Yvette watched, the more her heart twisted in agony. Tears streamed down her face.

Before Charles died, everything had been under her control. She had planned and schemed for years, and finally, she saw everything she wanted come to fruition.

However, everything changed after Charles' death.

Marcus was nothing like Charles. He was far more ruthless and cold-hearted than Charles ever was.

At that moment, Yvette regretted everything. Alas, regret was useless now. Compared to Marcus, she was far behind in the art of breaking someone's spirit. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

Kenton put on a mask before turning to open it.

Sheldon stood at the doorway. "I came to check in," he said. Dressed in black after the funeral, he looked as calm as ever.

"Sheldon, please come in," Kenton said, quickly stepping aside to let him enter. "Should I leave?"

"There's no need," Sheldon replied calmly, walking toward the bed. "Yvette, I'm here to give you a gift."

Sheldon pulled out an envelope and tossed it at Yvette's face. "Open it and take a look."

Yvette's entire body ached, and she didn't dare look at the envelope Sheldon gave her. When Charles died, Sheldon had been the most heartbroken. His grief had been so deep that he looked ready to follow Charles to the grave.

"What? Are you afraid to look at it?"

Sheldon picked up the envelope himself, tore it open, and pulled out a stack of photos. One by one, he held them up in front of Yvette.

"The man you found took your money and left to start another relationship. Do you know who he is? He's the younger brother of Cassie's father. He had plastic surgery and changed his face on purpose to get close to you.

"Do you know why you're sick with a terminal illness? This man has been poisoning you slowly for years. The Jenkinses killed his brother, and now he's come to destroy you."

He paused, then added, "Oh, and by the way, you thought Lina was your daughter, but she's not. That man drugged you, then used a test-tube baby made with another woman's egg and put it inside you."

Sheldon let out a soft laugh and said, "Yvette, you spent your life scheming against others, but you never realized you were being played too. So, do you think Lina will come and kill you herself to save Charlene?"

"What?" Yvette's mind buzzed in alarm. "What did you say? Lina isn't my daughter? How is that possible?"

She refused to believe it. She would rather die than believe it.

Sheldon leaned in close to Yvette's ear and whispered, "I came here planning to strangle you with my own hands. I wanted to kill you in revenge for Mr. Holden Senior, but Kenton said that just killing you would be too easy. He's a sharp blade, and the things he's given us are more than enough to make you suffer."

Then, a faint smirk appeared on his face. "I can't wait to see Lina kill you herself."

He straightened up and stepped aside, watching Yvette with quiet amusement. The arrogance she had when she met with Charles back then was gone now, replaced by sheer terror and despair.

If she had never started this, no one would have remembered the Jenkins family. Their graves would have been well cared for every year.

If she had never provoked Charles, he would still be alive, and she wouldn't have ended up like this.

Yet, she had destroyed it all with her own hands.

Now that Charles was gone, Marcus was no longer held back. He was

ruthless, and he didn't care that

Yvette was old or dying. A singletnoveldrama

glance or a few cryptic words from him would be enough to make others take action, sparing him from getting his own hands dirty.

And then there was Kenton, who was waiting for his revenge.

Sheldon pulled up a chair and sat down. "Go on, Kenton. Don't mind me. Mr. Holden Senior is gone, and I'm bored. I'm more than happy to watch this heart-wrenching game. Do you think Lina will take two days to make her choice? Or perhaps she's already on her way here?"

Yvette glared at Sheldon. After a long silence, she finally broke down and

screamed, "I want to see Marcus! I want to see Marcus!"

"Mr. Holden won't see you because you don't deserve it," Sheldon calmly replied. "The Jenkins family was never a match for the Holden family. When Vivian married Mr. Holden Senior, your family was the one reaching beyond its status, but instead of being grateful, you trampled on his sincerity. Yvette, do you realize where you went wrong?"

"I did nothing wrong! It was Charles! It was Charles!" Yvette screamed. "He was blind! He deserved to be fooled by Vivian! He deserved to be cheated on! He deserved to raise another man's daughter!"

Sheldon looked at her with a vacant expression. "Then, I suppose you deserve to be killed by Lina. How does it feel knowing the child you carried in your womb isn't of the Jenkins bloodline?"

He paused before adding, "Oh, and that man who orchestrated all of this? He couldn't have done it without the hospital and resources you so kindly provided to Kenton."

Sheldon sneered. "Yvette, how does it feel to be bitten by the very dog you raised?"

Kenton sat calmly on the other side of the bed, unbothered by Sheldon's words. After all, they were simply the truth.

"Yvette, just wait," Sheldon said, staring at her with deep hatred. "Your suffering has only just begun."

From that moment on, Yvette wasn't given a moment of rest, let alone the chance to sleep. Kenton forced her to keep watching the TV screen.

On it, the footage of the fire at the Jenkins residence and the wild dogs digging up

the Jenkins' graves continued to play on a loop.

But Kenton had added new content to torment her further.

When she was unconscious on the operating table, they had implanted the man's

and another woman's test-tube baby inside her.

That man had sweet-talked her, taken her money, and then left to find another

woman.

He had a family outside. He told the other woman that Yvette was just a foolish, rich idiot. She thought she was using him to have a child, but in the end, she was

the one who had unknowingly carried someone else's baby.

Sheldon and Kenton had no intention of letting her go.

Every second Yvette spent lying in that hospital bed was pure torment, and there was no escape.
