The Rebirth of the Betrayed Alpha

As the lights brightened up, Alexandra attempts to see past the bright lights passing through her eyes as though they wanted to blind her vision.

She was sure if she wasn't born with a werewolf gene, the lights would have done damage to her eyes. Footsteps approached and Alexandra wasn't sure if she could put a name to those menacing steps that suddenly sends shivers up her spine.

Alexandra smiled but the smile didn't reach her eyes, it cast a sensation and it wasn't a good kind. It was the one that made her feel as though death had crept In on her and she couldn't fight it.

The feet of the guards stomping against the hard floors were like the feet of warriors on a battlefield and she wasn't sure where her side was going to be.

Right there and then, Alexandra decided that she wasn't going to give up, she wasn't going to give up on a chance to see Nathaniel's face again. Although they had a fight and she couldn't quite rightly describe their relationship any longer, she yearned to see him again even if it was from afar.

Adam gave her a triumphant smile, he had to admit, she was quite a hero which is why she was going to die. He couldn't quite understand why they have to always be stupid and clueless at all times. It was clear that he wasn't going to let her have her way. How could she have thought he would leave the prison unguarded without having plans to trap her?

And just like he predicted, she fell right into his trap just when he was dreaming about seeing her and giving her a piece of his mind.

He knew from the start that she would return to save her mother's relation and just like that, Adam had set trap for her waiting on when she would walk into the prison and he would trap her following her enchanting scent.

"Alexandra Guerrero, how surprising"

Alexandra arched her eyebrows at him with hopes that she could see past those treacherous eyes that craves nothing more than her blood. "Adam Hawthorn, how surprising"

"I did it just for you"

"I definitely can see that," Alexandra said. Looking at the guards behind her, something told her they were ready to strike her on Adams's cue. The way they looked at her reassured her that they were loyal to Adam, she hadn't seen them around in the pack. Not that she knows all the guards but there were the guards who laughed at Adam when he lost to her, they were always on the training ground with him so it must have been amusing to see a woman whoop his ass.

"You are one of my specials so I thought I spice things up a little for you" "How thoughtful"

Alexandra played with her fingers trying to calm her nerves but the motion did little to calm her rising adrenaline that arched to jab a sword into Adam's chest. That way she would see if truly he had a heart.

"Please you don't have to thank me"

"Who said I was" Alexandra grimaces, she wasn't friends with Adam. If anything he was her nemesis and so she wasn't going to pretend that she enjoyed his presence one bit because she didn't. If his body was lying on the ground, with no life left in it then maybe she would have put up with the pretense as she stared at his body.

But he was alive and had a full life cycle running through his body. His blood was warm and not cold which meant he was a breathing wolf and so was she.

"Calm down Alexandra"

"How ironic considering that you have guards with all sorts of weapons aiming at my back"

"Does it trouble you?" Adam grinned, the grin of someone who had won the battle as well as the war, and doesn't fail to shove it right to Alexandra's face.

Adam tactfully left out the words "I hope it does", but as if sensing it anyway. Alexandra narrowed her eyes sharply and Adam clears his throat. "What would you like to have?"

"Royal treatment? should I be glad?"

"Of course, you deserve nothing better than all treatment, you are the Alpha" He managed to say the latter. He has been trying to get used to addressing her as the Alpha when they see each other so he made sure to go through his lines over and over again. That way, the words would roll out smoothly and they did. But Alexandra doesn't trust him, she could see past the ugly facade he was fighting so hard to put up as though he was one of the women he wanted to impress.

"What did you say I was?" Alexandra throws an appreciative smile at him. Adam grinned inwardly, he got her right where he wanted once again without even having to fight so much.

"You are the Alp -"

"Shut your mouth" Alexandra cuts him off as though the conversation had triggered something worse than disgust in her.

"What did you just say?"

"Are you deaf? Shut your mouth you piece of shit, who are you trying to fool?" Adam scoffed, unbelievably. He must have thought she was a fool who would fall for his lies again.

She fell for it in the past and it got her killed, she fell for it again and her relationship with Nathaniel was ruined. It cost her the one man she desired to have all to herself and she couldn't do a thing about it at the moment but what she could do is finally give Adam Hawthorn a taste of his medicine.
