The Rebirth of the Betrayed Alpha

Chapter 61: The twist

The sunny midday calls to Adam like the guilt of pleasure, sitting on the terrace staring at the trees brushing against each other in an almost menacing manner. He opens the magazine, flips through the pages for a moment, and closes it, bored. He stands up, and with the choices in front of him, he slowly and cautiously caused his legs to move into the house, one by one through the dark oak wooden door and into the living room, his feet shuffle against the ground as he advances towards the entrance door, flinging it wide opens jumps as he bumps into Alexandra standing by the doorstep, a sad smile plastered on her face.

"Alexandra" He states

"Hi"

"Hey, what are you doing here? I mean how are you doing?"

"I...I...I'm sorry if I startled you"

"Is alright" Adams sighs. "Are you alright?"

Adam gazes at her, without a doubt that she was not alright. Even though a part of him was happy to see her standing outside his house, curiosity still eats him up within his heart since Alexandra wasn't the type to barge into his house without an invitation and the look on her face alone confirmed his suspicion.

"Can we talk?"

"Yea, come in"

Alexandra shakes her head, disapprovingly. "No not here, can we talk somewhere else" she whispers, hating to be in an enclosed space with him.

"Of course but won't it be better to talk in my place where we won't be bothered"

"I know but...but" Tears crawls up Alexandra's eyes as she feigns to be hurt. "There is nothing wrong... I..." she sobs

"Hey, what's wrong? Is alright, talk to me, Alexandra"

"I just feel suffocated, can we go somewhere else?"

Adams nods his head affirmatively, staring intently at him trying to figure out something he isn't sure about. Looking into her eyes, he could see the pain with a mix of something he isn't sure about but he knew Alexandra wasn't the type to run to his side at least not anymore for she wasn't the same woman he once knew. She was different and even him has noticed that but still, Adam couldn't help but be concerned, he wanted to get to the root of her problem and assure her he would be there for her, that way, it would be easier to make her give up her position and let him lead the Guerrero pack, succeeding her Father.

"Let's go anywhere you want"

"Take me anywhere Adams, please" she stated, holding the urge to roll her eyes.

Listening to herself, she sounded so true and sincere but in actuality was only faking it, while waiting for the right time to put her plans in order so she could humiliate Olivia and Adams, once she lures them into her trap.

"There is a restaurant across the street, that is nice and quiet, we can talk there"

"Thanks"

"Wait a moment, let me grab my keys"

Alexandra nods her head affirmatively, watching him as he enters the house, a smile creeps on her face and she couldn't help but applaud herself, Flipping her hair backward.

"Damn, Alexandra you should win an Oscar" she mutters under her breath, glancing around aware that she didn't need to let her guard down since she was still in the lion's den and he could be anywhere watching her, spying on her, waiting on her to make a wrong move so he would engulf her, ruining her plans and exposing her.

"It is now or never?" She thinks to herself, tears brims down her cheeks and she quickly wipes them off, hearing Footsteps approaching the door, her face becoming gloomy which didn't go unnoticed by Adam.

"Are you alright?"

"I'm not alright Adam" Her soft eyes burn into his cold eyes, melting his heart and Adams holds her hand.

"Can you walk or should I carry you?"

"I can manage" Alexandra states, biting her lower, holding the urge to punch him

in the face for suggesting such outrageous thing when he is fully aware that Nathaniel is her mate and she would never give him up, no matter what.

"Let's go, come on"

Strolling down the street, Adam couldn't help but stare at her through his peripheral vision, his heartbeat accelerates, a lot of things run through his mind and he wonders what has happened to her.

"Did she fight with Olivia?" He thinks but on a second thought pushes the feeling aside since he was already aware that the girl's relationship wasn't all rainbows and unicorns and even though most people in the Guerrero pack weren't aware, Olivia hated her guts, the mere sight of Alexandra infuriates her and she doesn't fail to show her disgust.

"It can't be her besides the two girls have never been friends" He massages his temples gently, something that has grown into a habit when he wanted to think.

"Who could it be?" He glances around, trailing his eyes up and down her body trying to find something he isn't of.

"Is it that punk?" He smiles "Did he finally reject her?" His smile widens but Alexandra doesn't see this since she was walking right in front of him as though her whole world has fallen apart.

"Is it heartbreak?" Adams halts for a moment, his eyes firmly fixed on her as she advances towards the restaurant, unaware that he had already halted.noveldrama

"That's what could make a woman so pissed off" He jumps up.

"This is my lucky day. If Nathaniel has rejected her it means she is running over here for me to rescue her and that could only mean that she wants me to be her man, her mate, her knight and shining armor" Adams smiles sinisterly, the glee on his face couldn't be contained as he walks closer to her, his arrogance floods around and he dips his hands into his pocket imagining the look on the faces of members of Guerrero pack when he emerges as the Alpha.

"Everyone would soon be cheering, Alpha Adam" He smirks, triumphantly
