I looked at the box before me and asked, "What's inside?"

Dorothy smiled and said, "An emerald bracelet. Open it and see if you like it."

I took it and opened the box. The emerald bracelet was clearly valuable.

I then closed the box. "I can't accept such an expensive gift. How about giving it to Willow? After all, Willow is your daughter's child."

Dorothy didn't hesitate and said, "But we've already decided."

I smiled and said, "If you give it to me, then it's mine. I can give it to whoever I want, and you won't be able to control that."

Both Milton and Dorothy were clearly surprised by my response and froze. They exchanged a look.

Milton sighed and said, "Since you've decided, we won't force you."

"Okay." I handed the box to Willow. "This is a very expensive gift from your grandparents. You must keep it safe."

Willow froze and looked at me, then at the box before her.

Her mind was racing with thoughts, and in the end, she handed it to Zane. "Daddy, please keep it for me."

Zane didn't refuse. "Okay."

He took the bracelet and headed upstairs. "I'll put it in the safe."

Willow looked at Zane, then at Milton and Dorothy, and gave them a sweet smile. "Thank you, Grandpa, Grandma."

Milton and Dorothy were both very pleased. "You're welcome."

Willow then hugged me and said, "Thank you, Mommy."noveldrama

"Mm." I gently patted her back. "It's late. It's time for a bath and then bed."

Willow had already gotten used to going to bed early. Upon hearing this, she quickly waved goodbye to Milton and Dorothy.

I led Willow upstairs.

She was much more sensible now, and she didn't need me to accompany her for many things anymore.

After she finished washing up and lay in bed, I told her a bedtime story. Afterward, she drifted into a deep sleep.

I stepped out of the bedroom. Zane was waiting at the door. "Shall we chat on the balcony?" Although we had more time to ourselves now, most of it was spent working in the company. Both of us were busy with our jobs, and we rarely had time to talk.

Now that Willow was asleep and we had time, it was a good opportunity to chat.

I smiled and said, "Sure."

Steven sat in the car, watching the two people on the balcony.

A few days ago, they were all over each other, but now, they simply held hands. Somehow, to Steven, it felt like they had become even closer.

Annalise seemed different now.

Before, whenever he wronged her, Annalise would always feel very uncomfortable, eager to explain herself.

But now, it seemed like everything had changed.

He had misunderstood Annalise and even wanted to call her to scold her, but to his disappointment, he couldn't reach her at all.

When he finally managed to reach Zane, Zane cut him off directly, not giving him a chance to upset Annalise.
