The Sway and Slide of Love

Chapter 487

Noelle instructed the caregiver to look after Rosie before following Dylan out.

"The last time we met was over a year ago, right?" Dylan asked. "You had just given birth, and I was swamped with work, so we didn't get a chance to talk properly."

The hospital yard was filled with patients enjoying the sunshine.

They found a quiet spot in a gazebo. Dylan sat down on the bench first, his demeanor relaxed and

natural. That calm composure was something only a seasoned businessman could possess.

Noelle had seen it countless times in Hendrix. But perhaps because she was used to Dylan's gentle and approachable nature, seeing him adopt this tone made her feel uncomfortable.

After a brief pause, she let out a soft hum.

"You know I've started my own company, Dyno Corporation, right?" Dylan asked.

"Yeah, I saw the news. The company looks successful. Congratulations."

Dylan chuckled. "Thank you. By the way, there's something you probably don't know. My grandfather... He's passed away."

Noelle was stunned. She truly hadn't heard about this.

After all, Donald had been a painter she once liked and respected. During their few meetings, he had always been kind to her. So, naturally, she would be shocked to suddenly receive this news.

Dylan noticed her reaction and gave a faint smile before continuing, "Actually, his condition had been under control for a while. But you know how proud he was. If he had remained in that state of confusion, maybe nothing would've happened. But one day, he suddenly had a moment of clarity.

"And then, he saw the adult diaper he was wearing and the mess he had made of his bed. He couldn't accept it. So, when the caregiver wasn't looking, he jumped from the balcony."

Dylan's voice was calm, as if he were recounting someone else's story.

But Noelle knew better.

Dylan had always held deep respect for Donald. Back then, if it hadn't been to protect Donald's reputation, he wouldn't have agreed to the engagement with Jean.

If it had been a natural death due to old age, Dylan might have been able to accept it. But for Donald to leave the world in such a tragic way...

"I'm fine," Dylan said.

Noelle frowned tightly. She opened

her mouth to say something, but before she could offer any words of comfort, Dylan smiled and said, "It's okay. You don't need to console me. It's been over a year. I've already come to terms with it."

"My condolences."

In the end, those were the only two words she could muster.

Dylan looked up, meeting her gaze for a moment before saying, "There's something else. Have younoveldrama

heard?"

"What?"

"Jean's father, Brian, has been arrested, Dylan said. "Apparently the amount of bribes he took was quite substantial. All their family assets have been frozen. Do you know who reported him?"

Noelle simply looked at him silently.

Dylan smiled and continued, "Why don't you ask if it was me?"
