Eric let out a guttural yell. The sound tore through the room, raw and filled with fury. His control shattered completely.

So that was Ferris’ cruel plan!

No wonder Hadley didn’t want to see him! Ferris had masterminded a plot to terminate either her or their relationship for good.

Releasing the knife, Eric flung it aside.

Yet, in the same motion, he clenched his fist and delivered a forceful punch to Ferris! “You’ve lost your mind! I’m going to beat you to death today!”

Eric’s fists came down hard, each blow fueled by fury. There was no restraint left in him.

“Ouch!” Ferris crumpled to the floor, his groans of pain filling the room.

“Mr. Flynn!” Cordell’s voice rang out as he rushed forward, panic evident in his tone. “Stop this! You’re striking your own father! That’s a betrayal of your own blood!”

But could anything halt Eric’s fury now?

“Eric,” he continued, his voice earnest, “women from poor families can’t see the bigger picture. Do you honestly believe she cares about you? She’s only after your money…”

“No!” Eric snapped back to reality, his expression one of fierce determination. “Hadley is different! She isn’t like that!”

If Hadley had been interested in his wealth, things would have been simpler. But she had shown no interest in him at all, along with his fortune.

“Eric…” Ferris sighed, his voice softening. “I’m getting old. Come back home.”

Home? Did he hear that right?

Eric squinted and tilted his head, as if struggling to grasp the reality of the situation. “You went through all this chaos just to pull me back into the Scott family?”

Ferris chuckled dryly, a faint shake of his head accompanying his amusement.

“I know you’re bitter,” Ferris said, his voice firm. “But Eric, if you return, the entire Scott estate will be yours. You must realize, the Scotts are in no way inferior to the Flynns—perhaps even their better…”

“Do you think I care about that?”

A dark smile then twisted Eric’s lips, his entire demeanor shadowed by a grim aura.

“The Eric you knew is gone! The life you tried to dictate—I’ve rejected it long ago! I have no ties with you now, Ferris! My name is Eric Flynn, not Eric Scott!”

His gaze sharpened, his deep-set eyes flashing with contempt. His lips curled into a grim smirk. “I want nothing to do with you. Or the damn Scott family.”

Something then flashed in his mind, prompting him to move toward Ferris. “You’re coming with me to the hospital! You owe Hadley an explanation for everything tonight!”
