Under the Heiress' Facade

Chapter 786

Chapter 786

Meanwhile, at the entrance of the small village, two vehicles were parked along the muddy road. One was a shabby white van and the other a black SUV. The white van was the one that had abducted Catherine.

In a nearby grove, the three men who had been in the van were now huddled under a tree, looking at the man and woman in front of them with terrified expressions.

Especially the woman! She looked young and beautiful, but she was a rose with thorns!

Ten minutes ago, their vehicle was forced to stop. The beautiful woman had asked them to step into the woods to help her with something.

They had dirty minds and thought they had hit the jackpot. It wasn't often that a beautiful woman would invite them into the woods for some excitement.

It was indeed exciting, but not in the way they expected. In the blink of an eye, the woman pulled out several silver needles. Before they could even react, she quickly jabbed them. Now, they were paralyzed from the waist down!

It was terrifying, even scarier than being cursed!

"I'll give you one more chance. Speak! Where did you take her?" Wayne threatened. "If you don't talk, I'll kill you!"

The three men shrank back even more when they saw the silver needle in Hera's hand.

"We don't know! Our job was to deliver the woman here and hand her over. We have no idea where they went after that!" The driver quickly shook his head.

"We just did our job for the money. We don't know anything else!" the chubby man chimed in.

The skinny one had wet his pants. "If I had known, I would've just taken the old lady's million dollars and let her go..."

"Fuck..." Wayne was frustrated and furious. He wanted to kick them but restrained himself and looked over at Hera.

It seemed they genuinely didn't know anything else.

"Let's go," Hera said coldly, heading back to the car.

"What about them?" Wayne glanced back at the three men lying on the ground.

Hera shrugged. "Someone will take care of them."

The three men immediately pleaded, "Hey! Could you help us, please..."

But no one paid attention to them. Their paralysis would likely be a lifelong condition.

Just as Hera got into the car, her phone rang. Seeing it was from Catherine, her eyes lit up as she quickly answered, "Grandma!"

At the same time, she grabbed her laptop and began tracking the caller's location.

On the other end of the line, Everly had already put the phone on speaker and signaled for Catherine to speak.

Catherine took a deep breath and shouted, "Hera, don't worry about me! I'm fine. Don't come!"

Everly immediately hung up the call. She leaned over from the passenger seat and slapped Catherine. "Damn you!"noveldrama

Catherine's head snapped to the side. She turned to look at Everly's right hand. It was the same hand that was swollen the day before. After Catherine had helped her disinfect the wound, apply medicine, and stitch it up, the swelling went down. The wound had started to heal.

Catherine found the situation ironic. "Everly, is this your true colors?"

Hera was right. Everly wouldn't have come looking for them if she had truly felt remorse. How foolish she had been to believe Everly's lies.

Even Everly hadn't expected herself to lose control like that. Her right hand trembled. It hurt so much. Maybe the wound had reopened. Now that her ruse had been exposed, Everly stopped pretending. "This is all Hera's fault! She forced my hand!"

Seeing that the phone call was useless, Everly sent a text message to Hera.
