Under the Heiress' Facade



Chapter 788

Douglas led his team to the red dot on the map, only to find the place empty with no sign of people or buildings. They moved closer to the phone signal and found a discarded phone on the ground.

Douglas frowned as he picked up the phone and immediately texted Hera.

Meanwhile, Hera and Wayne arrived at Soul Cliff, where a red Jeep was already waiting.

Although October was usually still bright out, the weather was gloomy today, creating a heavy atmosphere.

Everly saw two people get out of the car, the other person being Wayne. She felt displeased. She exited her vehicle with her gaze fixed on Hera. "Didn't I tell you to come alone?"

As if remembering something, she added sarcastically, "Oh, I forgot. You don't even know how to drive. You have to use my brother as your chauffeur!"

Hera remained silent. She couldn't understand where Everly was getting at.

"Everly, have you gone mad? Do you even know what you're doing?" Wayne shouted at her. He had long suspected that Everly intentionally lured him away, leaving Catherine vulnerable to being kidnapped. But what he hadn't anticipated was that Everly herself was behind the abduction!

He was furious. He had believed she would change for the better, yet she lied to him! The woman in front of him no longer resembled the innocent sister he once knew. And he felt responsible for her downfall.

He moved to grab Everly, intending to take her home and teach her a lesson. Just then, two armed men stepped out of Everly's car. As Wayne approached, they pointed their weapons at him.

Hera glanced at the two men and recognized the insignia on their uniforms. They belonged to the mercenary group-Grim Reapers.

There was no way Everly could afford their services on her own. Someone was backing her. But who would still support her after she had fallen so far?

"I know exactly what I'm doing!" Everly hissed through clenched teeth, her eyes full of resentment as she glared at Hera. "You forced my hand!"

"Who forced you?" Wayne demanded. "Think about it! Would you have ended up like this if you hadn't been so greedy?"

"Shut up! All you ever do is take her side! Do you even remember who's your real sister?" Everly screamed.

"Oh? So, now you admit you're his sister and not part of the Chime family's bloodline?" Hera mocked.

Everly froze.

Just then, Hera received a message from Douglas, "We only found the phone. There's no sign of your grandmother."

Hera frowned at Everly. "Where did you take my grandmother?"noveldrama

"Aren't you the infamous Raven? Aren't you so powerful that you can even hack foreign satellites? And yet, you can't even find your grandmother's location?" Everly laughed maniacally.

She had anticipated that Hera would bring backup and track the phone's location. That was why she hid Catherine elsewhere and discarded the phone. No matter how clever Hera was, Everly had outsmarted her this time!

Hera's frown deepened, her gaze turning cold. She replied to Douglas, "Search the mountain!"
