Your Guise Is Slipping, Miss Pearl

Chapter 1365

Chapter 1365

Richard remembered feeling cold and distant when he was young. He thought Darius must have picked that up from his mother.

"So, you need to pass my test if you want to be with my mom."

Richard drove calmly, not really worried about Darius's challenge but curious about what he'd say next.

"I'm listening."

"How much do you earn?"

Richard paused for a moment. "I don't earn a salary."

Darius was shocked. "What? You don't have a salary? How will you take care of your family? Do you plan to depend on your wife?" While saying this, he looked at Richard with

disapproval.

Richard held back a laugh. "I don't have a salary because I own the company. I pay other people their salaries."

Darius was surprised and then embarrassed. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"Isn't it right to answer your questions?"

Darius cleared his throat and quickly asked another question to change the subject. "Have you ever met other women without my mom knowing?"

Richard answered honestly. "Yes, I have."

"What?" Darius had doubted Richard could be a good father if he was unfaithful.

"I've met your grandmothers. Shouldn't I stay in touch with them?"

Darius was young and missed the joke. He felt bad for jumping to conclusions. But it was different from apologizing.

"Okay, you can be my dad then," Darius said, turning away awkwardly.

Richard smiled. "Oh? Don't you want anything for yourself?"noveldrama

Darius frowned but spoke kindly. "No, I just want my mom to be happy. As long as you're kind to her, it's fine." He looked at Richard seriously. "You will be kind to her, right?"

Richard nodded and winked at Darius since he couldn't pinch his face. "Don't worry." Suddenly, he hit a white car in front, as he had turned away. The crash was loud.

At the hospital, Richard was rushed into the emergency room. Darius, slightly injured, looked stunned as a nurse bandaged him.

"Darius, how are you feeling?" Pearl saw her son's shocked face and hugged him quickly. "Mom, I'm fine."

Darius was crying a bit, his voice shaky. "Mom, I'm okay. But Mister Richard is badly hurt. Will he be alright?"

Before Pearl could answer, the nurse quickly said, "Before the crash, he shielded this young boy, so he's mostly fine, just scratched up. But the man is..."

The nurse didn't finish, but Pearl saw the worry on her face and knew Richard was in bad shape.

She felt a surge of anxiety. "I understand."

After the nurse finished with Darius, Pearl felt sad looking at his wounded face. "Does it still hurt, Darius?" she gently touched his face.

"No, it doesn't hurt anymore." Darius shook his head, feeling very guilty. "Mom, Mister Richard got hurt because of me."
