A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo)

Chapter 292 Obedient

Yvette said, "You know full well that Theo doesn't want to be with Melody, yet you keep bringing her up. Are you insane? And now you even mentioned her in front of Sierra? Are you jealous that he has a girlfriend and want to break them up?"

Douglas looked guilty but still hurried to defend himself. "No! I wasn't trying to break them up, but Melody..."

Before he could finish, Yvette scoffed. "Melody, Melody-that's all you ever talk about! What kind of spell has she put on you? You've been circling around her since we were kids."

Douglas stiffened, looking conflicted. He turned to his two other friends for support, but they both gave him disapproving looks.

Simon pulled Yvette down to sit, gently rubbing her back to calm her. Then, he looked at Douglas, saying, "Douglas, let's forget whatever that has happened before. Now that Theo has a girlfriend, you need to stay out of his relationship.'

"

Seeing that Douglas still looked unconvinced, Daniel spoke more bluntly. "You saw how Theo treats Ms. Shaw. If you really end up driving her away, do you think he won't turn against you?"

Remembering how pale Sierra had looked when she left-and how she had refused to let Theo help her with her coat-Daniel smirked and took a sip of his drink. "This isn't over yet. You'd better brace yourself."

Douglas shrank into his seat, hesitating. "No way... We've been best friends since we were kids. He wouldn't do anything to me over a woman."noveldrama

"Heh." Yvette sneered. "To Theo, Sierra isn't just some woman. She's the one he loves."

Seeing Douglas' doubtful expression, she casually picked up a piece of fruit and took a bite. "When have you ever seen Theo take care of a woman? When has he ever followed Mr. Gray Senior's orders when he didn't want to?"

Douglas thought about it and immediately shook his head.

Yvette, imagining how badly Theo would deal with Douglas later, suddenly felt much better. She continued, "So why do you think he just 'obediently' agreed to be with Sierra this time?"

Seeing Douglas deep in thought, she delivered the final blow. "Theo is as cold as ice when it comes to relationships. If he treats Sierra like this, it means he truly cares about her."

Douglas cared about Melody but also didn't want to lose Theo as a friend. He made up his mind to avoid mentioning her in front of Sierra from now on.

As soon as Sierra stepped inside Southridge Heights, she said she was tired, went upstairs, grabbed some fresh clothes, and headed straight for the bathroom. She looked at herself as she stood in front of the mirror. The disappointment in her eyes was impossible to ignore.

When she heard that a woman had been in love with Theo for over ten years, her initial shock had quickly turned into something else—a subtle ache in her heart, a feeling she was all too familiar with.

It was the same way she had felt when Sophie first appeared by Benson's side.

Back then, she had still been in love with Benson, so of course, she hadn't wanted to see him with another woman. So why was she feeling this way now?

She couldn't explain it. She lowered her gaze and stood there, lost in thought as the sound of running water filled the air.

Just as she was contemplating whether she should ask for a divorce ahead of time, there was a knock on the bathroom door.

Sierra turned off the faucet and glanced toward the door. "What is it?"

Outside, Theo's dark eyes deepened. After a long pause, he finally replied, "Nothing."

They stood on opposite sides of the door. Sierra stared at the shadow cast by him outside, then silently closed her eyes, stepped into the bathtub, and sank into the water.

It wasn't until the water turned cold that she finally figured things out.
