Rejected the alpha mate 233
Chapter 233
Summer POV
Laura called me in her room at the hospital before the announcement of results. Despite the tension in the room, I wanted to laugh, seeing her swollen red face. Her lips were also swollen, so the words that came out sounded alien.
“HooocoudualloweeeBaaadnest?”
“Huh?” I really stifled my laugh here.
She narrowed her already swollen eyes at me, glaring hard. “Ivillkillyouuu!”
I looked away, calmed myself and then turned my face back to her. “If you’re asking about Nesting Trials, then I have no idea why Bradley behaved like that. It was just very sudden and out of the blue.”
What she next said meant that it was extremely important that I didn’t get out of the Luna trials. Her father had called her and he was sounding harsher than before.
“I’m trying my best,” I replied exasperatedly, irritated and scared by Morelli’s constant interference. “If they disqualify me, I’ll appeal to the judges.”
Laura glared at me with total hatred. She said that if I was thrown out in this round, she would make sure that Morelli killed me and buried me six feet underground. A chill of fear ran down my spine. I was so trapped in her world. It only made me want to escape from here as soon as possible.
“I’m trying, Laura,” I said.
“Get out!” she sneered.
I didn’t want to stay in the same room because I was feeling suffocated, so I got up and hurried out in the open air. Once I was out, I sat on a bench and inhaled deep to fill my lungs with much–needed oxygen. I hated Laura, but I hated Morelli more.
At 9pm, we were all called into the conference room of the resort for the results. I wore simple jeans and a shirt as I walked into the room. It was teeming with activity with some contestants laughing while some making jokes with the Alphas. As soon as they became aware of me, the murmurs decreased. I noticed a group including Daisy, looking at me smugly. Daisy chuckled and whispered something to her friend. She laughed, but all others who hadn’t listened to her also laughed. It wasn’t strange that they laughed at my state, but it was strange that they laughed when they hadn’t even heard the joke she made. Lowering my head, I made my way to the side where I picked up a glass of pineapple juice.
“I hope they don’t disqualify you,” Damon’s voice interrupted my thoughts.
I didn’t reply to him and continued to look at the podium where I saw Tamara speaking with judge Cody. Where was Alpha Bradley? I wanted to give him a piece of my mind. I scanned the room where everyone resumed laughing and joking.
“If you want, I can make an appeal to the judge,” Damon continued.
“No thanks,” I gritted. I hated his creepy ways.
“Why are you upset with me, Summer?” he asked, his eyes fixing on me.
I licked my lips and let out a harsh exhale, not wanting to answer him.
“What have I done to you?” he said. “If you want then I can appeal to the judge, and you won’t be disqualified.”
I looked sharply at him. “And then what would you want in return?”
He laughed softly. He gulped down the wine in his glass. “I would want you to spend a night with me. That’s all.”
1 shook my head. He was all red flags. “Get your head tested,” I snapped at him. “And leave me.”

He chuckled. “Do you know that Laura wants to marry me?”
My stomach plummeted at his words. “Laura wants to marry you?”
He smirked. “Yes. And she will do everything she can to ensure that.”
Tension coiled in my chest as I stared at him with wide eyes. What did he mean?
He tilted his head and assessed me. “Do you know that werewolves can hear even if you whisper? We have heightened senses of hearing and smelling Not only that-” He leaned closer. “We can sense your fear as well. So right now, I know you are scared.”
Chill skittered down my spine like a slithery snake. “I’m not
Scared.”
“Oh yes, you are,” he scoffed. “But trust me when I say this. Laura will go to every length to secure herself an Alpha. I’m ready to marry her, but I want you also. You know it’s not a bad deal. To have a free maid with a legit wife.” His eyes fixed my lips. “It would be better if you understand this situation sooner, else you may get disqualified from the trials in this contest.”
The shaking in my body had nothing to do with the cold. It was because of my situation. If I didn’t listen to Damon, I would get disqualified for sure. And if I listened to him, he would take me to his room to spend a night with me. And who knew he wouldn’t repeat it? At this moment, I really hated Alpha Bradley. He messed up my life so much. Tears stung behind my eyes, but I blinked them away, not willing to show the effect Damon had on me.
My eyes went to Tamara who was now looking at us sharply. Her expression was stern. Did she hear what Damon said to me? How could she over the
noise in the room?
“What do you say?” Damon pushed me. “Do we have a deal?”
Something inside me snapped. “No,” I rasped. “I’d rather get disqualified than take your deal!” And then I would run away.
Damon’s nostrils flared in anger. “You’re doing it wrong, Summer. If you think that you can get away from me, then trust me, I’ll find a way to get you. And if you get disqualified, it will be better for me. I’ll just take you away with me. No one will say a word about it because no one is bothered about you!”
“Then stop bothering me,” I fumed. “Let’s wait for the results.” Saying that, I moved away from him toward the podium. He was such a creep. I had to stay low and make sure that I made it to my room as soon as the results were announced. It would give me time to escape. My backpack was ready, and I had five thousand dollars in my bank for winning the last contest. That was enough to start a new faceless life.
Judge Cody coughed, drawing the attention of all the contestants. “The Nesting trials were…” He gazed at me. “…interesting.” A laughter followed and my face turned bright red. He continued, “Two contestants will be going home tonight. Their nests were nothing but an assortment of luxury goods. But that’s not what we wanted to see. We wanted to see something that showed your love in what you made.” He stopped and looked up.
I gulped, knowing that he would announce my name first. I lowered my head, holding my tears. Why was it that my heart didn’t want me to go away from here? Something was tugging at it, and I didn’t know what. Tears threatened to fill my eyes again. I knew Judge Cody’s next line would be that Summer is disqualified.
“Two girls who will be going are-” he paused, adding to the tension in the room.
Daisy’s soft laugh permeated the air. “It’s her for sure,” she chuckled, pointing at me.
“Rina and Nella.”
What? I whipped my head, my eyebrows shooting to my hairline as I stared at Judge Cody. My mouth dropped open and I stared and stared at him. He wasn’t looking at me. Tamara pursed her lips as she glanced at me as if to stop laughing.
“What?!” Daisy shot. “This is not right,” she said./”Summer should be disqualified!”
Judge Cody gave her a sharp glare. “And who are you to judge?”
She opened her mouth to say something and then snapped it shut, flustered like a chicken to be plucked.

Relief flooded through me. I couldn’t believe it, but a small smile tugged at my lips. How was this possible?

Cody looked up at the rest of us. “The winner of the competition is Denver Doe. She gets a check of five thousand dollars.” The room erupted in cheers and claps as people congratulated her. “The list of all those who qualified for the next contest is over there” he said, pointing at a notice board. “You can also see your rankings.”
Honestly, I didn’t want to see my ranking, but I couldn’t help my curiosity. So I rushed to see the rankings, and found that my name was in the last. Í thanked God silently for just making the cut. At least I was still in the contest. Damon and Laura could take a hike. I couldn’t stop feeling relieved.noveldrama
“Hey there!” Tammy came to greet me.
laughed softly, feeling excited. “I don’t know what happened!”
She hugged me. “My brother is getting protective about you.”
“Why was he growling and strong–arming my nest? I mean no one could dare to set foot near my cabin?” Why was he doing this to me? “I was sure to be disqualified,.so how did I manage to make the cut?”
She grabbed my wrist and took me to a quieter place. “Since this was a special situation, we made the Alphas vote for you. And you won by two votes.”
“Oh!”
Oh.
I blinked at her in surprise.
“I guess you are making an impression. This only means that there are some Alphas out there who still want you in the contest.”
“Yeah… I guess Alpha Damon was one of them.”
She jerked her head. “Damon? No. He voted against you.”
What do you think?
