My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul

Chapter 1967

Mabel's face turned crimson with embarrassment as she angrily yelled at the women, "You... what do you know?"

"We don't know as much as you, but at least we don't daydream and spot nonsense!"

"Exactly! We're just honest, hard-working folks who worry about everyday things like food and bills. We're not like you, with your mind full of dreams and fantasies."noveldrama

"You all!" Mabel was furious and pulled out the whip at her waist, raising it as if she were about to lash out at the women.

Her intimidating stance was certainly terrifying. The women, who had never seen anything like this before, were immediately frightened.

Vivian furrowed her brow. She had initially felt a twinge of pity for Mabel, who seemed almost obsessed with a man to the point of madness.

But now, seeing this outburst, she couldn't help but feel that a person who acted this way must have something utterly detestable about them.

Vivian glanced at Kemp. "Don't let her hurt anyone."

Kemp immediately moved forward. As a member of the shadow guard, his aura radiated an almost lethal presence.

Although Mabel had often interacted with soldiers in the past, facing a shadow guard with such a deadly aura up close still terrified her.

Biting her lip, Mabel muttered with frustration, "Kemp, we've known each other for so long. Are you going to make me embarrass myself?

"You saw how Mr. Atkinson treated me differently on our way to Briarpatch. If it weren't for her, I would have already married Mr. Atkinson."

She shot Vivian a venomous look, filled with jealousy and resentment.

"Mabel, I know you're a smart person. Why deceive yourself?" Vivian said, her voice calm yet carrying an unmistakable chill.

Mabel's face darkened, and she clearly felt the sting of embarrassment. She couldn't bring herself to meet Vivian's gaze, so she awkwardly shifted her eyes to Kemp.

"Mr. Atkinson is here, right? Take me to him. I need to speak with him directly."

She couldn't humiliate herself in front of these women. If she did, they would never stop gossiping about her.

She thought of herself as being far superior to these countryfolk.

"Mr. Atkinson won't want to meet with you. You should think carefully," Kemp replied coldly.

Mabel felt the heat of shame rising in her face.

The group of gossiping women had already started muttering about her, calling her delusional and foolish. They even compared her to Vivian.

Though Mabel didn't want to admit it, she had to acknowledge that Vivian was indeed more beautiful than she was.

She took a deep breath and then turned to Vivian. "Since you're so confident that Mr. Atkinson doesn't like me, you should have no problem letting me meet him, right? If you refuse, it means you lack

confidence. It also means you must have your hidden agenda in getting close to Mr. Atkinson."

"Ridiculous!" Kemp snapped angrily.

Just as Vivian was about to speak, a cold, piercing voice came from behind them. "Who wants to meet me?"

Mabel turned around quickly, and there stood Manfred, his gaze so cold and murderous it made her stumble backward in fear.

Cody had warned her that Manfred was ruthless, but she had always foolishly believed her relationship with him was different. She thought he would never be as harsh with her as he was with others.

But now, Manfred's gaze toward her was as chilling as that of someone looking at

a dead body.

"Mr. Atkinson..."

Manfred walked over to Vivian's side.

As they stood together, the crowd fell into stunned silence. It was as though they were witnessing a perfect match, like a scene straight out of a painting.
