Noelle didn't want to tell Cedric too much. The video nearly killed him.

The Merlocks were behind this and Noelle didn't want to bring him into this e picture. He should return to Aldoria and live a calm and peaceful life.

Cedric didn't ask any further questions. "It's getting late. Get some rest."

After hanging up, Cedric's expression turned cold. He threw his phone aside. "Look into what happened between Samuel and Noelle."

"She didn't tell you about it?"

"No."

"That's odd. She used to be quite dependent on you and would tell you everything that happened to her. Why has she kept it from you this time?"

Cedric had also picked up on it, but he could guess why her attitude had shifted. He turned to Alfred and said, "Shut it. Go look into it!"

"I don't think that will be necessary. I looked through the Yole University forum. Samuel was the Captain of the Yole Team base. He's a pervert who selects his victims from freshmen. Noelle is pretty and a great gamer. He took her to be his new target and confessed to her outside her dorms today."

Alfred watched Cedric's expression darken. He explained, "She turned him down. It was probably Samuel who resented her for it and bribed their dorm supervisor to let him in with the intent of causing trouble."

Cedric's gaze sharpened. He smirked. It made goosebumps prickle over Alfred. Cedric said, "Deal with Samuel."

After a moment of hesitation, Alfred suggested, "Noelle has helped herself grow stronger. Shouldn't you learn to let go? He'll be punished even if you didn't take action."

Cedric looked down and replied, "I know."

"If not for my quick thinking, Noelle would've been discovered. Laura's asking your mom for the identity of the girl who you got into the crash with."

He fell silent.

Outside the room, Emma's expression turned cold as she listened to their conversation. Then, she pushed the door open and walked in with a smile. "Are you feeling better, Cedric?"

"Mom, I've been cleared to be discharged today."

"Great. I've spoken to Mrs. Merlock. We'll have a meal together and talk about you and Laura."

Cedric replied expressionlessly, "Mom, I never agreed to get engaged to her."

"You're not a kid anymore. The Merlocks are of a good background. You two would be a great match. Why are you dissatisfied?"

"Mom, I know what I'm doing. Don't get too close to the Merlocks. If not, you'll land yourself in a difficult situation!"

Cedric was firm.

Emma was enraged. "Is this because of the girl you were in the accident with? Is that why you don't want to get engaged to Laura?"

"Even if she never existed, I wouldn't have gotten engaged with her and the Merlocks. Give it up."
