Richest Mogul

Chapter 1688

On the set, the scene of an intense battle had just wrapped.

Charles' face and body were covered in a layer of black soot. He couldn't clean his face as he still had some scenes later. However, his nose felt a bit uncomfortable as it was filled with soot as well.

Just as he was about to use a cotton swab to clean it, he looked up and saw Skylar. Surprised and delighted, he quickly walked over.

"When did you get here? Why didn't you let me know?"noveldrama

"I came to visit someone nearby-they needed my help with something. On my way back, I remembered you mentioned you were filming here, so I thought I'd drop by. Are you hurt?"

Skylar looked at Charles' disheveled appearance with some concern. She had just witnessed how challenging the scene had been.

Charles, determined to make it as realistic as possible, had refused to use a stunt double. He likely had some injuries.

Charles was used to such situations. So he just waved her concerns away. "It's nothing serious. Maybe just some bruises. The next scene isn't mine, so I can rest for a bit. Come, let me show you around."

As an actor, if one was afraid of pain and or injuries and relied on stunt doubles all the time, then what was the point of acting?

"Sure."

Skylar looked curiously at the set nearby. Seeing how war scenes were filmed in person was truly impressive. This production had a particularly large number of extras. They were resting everywhere.

Almost all of them greeted Charles when they saw him.

Charles had a great relationship with them, cheerfully responding and announcing he had ordered smoothies for everyone.

Charles himself had started as an extra, climbing step by step to his current position. For many extras, he was an inspiration, a symbol of hope to keep striving.

"See that over there? We'll be filming there tomorrow. I'll be here for the next half month," Charles said, pointing to a set in the distance.

Skylar nodded. "It's all gunfights and explosions. Please be careful not to get hurt."

"Don't worry. The crew is very professional-there won't be any danger," Charles reassured her.

"By the way, do you know what's going on with Harvey's girlfriend?" he asked.

Harvey had been tight-lipped about it until he suddenly brought a girlfriend home for Janine's birthday. Because of this, Charles had been ignoring Harvey.

Still, his curiosity was undeniable.

"Harvey told me they met at a competition. They kept in touch by WhatsApp and eventually bumped into each other at a few gatherings. Their relationship naturally developed from there.

"It's stable now. The young woman is a civil servant with a steady job, and she likes gaming in her free time," Skylar explained.

Charles chuckled and then scoffed, "He's always telling me he's staying single for life and would never get a girlfriend. And now, out of nowhere, he secretly gets one!"

"Judging by Harvey's demeanor, he seems to really like Alina," Skylar said with a smile.

In their family, Charles had always been the one with a childish personality. He might say he was upset, but deep down, he was just concerned that Harvey's girlfriend might not be good enough

Charles rolled his eyes. "Of course he likes her. If he didn't, would he have brought her home on Mom's birthday?

"I bet the next time he comes back, he'll announce he's getting married. No wonder he told me a while ago that he bought a new villa and was planning to renovate it soon it must

be their future home!"

Suddenly, Charles felt a pang of realization—he was now the odd one out, the

lone wolf in the family.
