Richest Mogul

Chapter 1692

Zera knew exactly how pitiful and heart-wrenching she appeared right now. She also knew this was what Aiken liked.

Men often had a streak of masculinity that made them want to protect vulnerable women. After spending so much time acting and reading countless scripts, Zera understood what appealed to men.

Aiken looked at Zera standing before him, but what he saw was a fleeting image of Wendy. For a moment, he was silent.

Seeing his lack of response, Zera's heart filled with panic. "Aiken... I'm really afraid—afraid that you'll leave me. Please don't ignore me. Please don't stop talking to me.

"I might have done something wrong, but I can change. I'll try not to make mistakes in the future, and I won't upset you anymore. Please?"

Her tone was humble, pleading. Surely, no matter how hard his heart was, it would soften now?

"Wow, that's some of the worst acting I've seen all year. Aiken, if you liked this type, you should've said so earlier. Why waste so many years of Wendy's time? But only you could stomach someone like this. Just the sight of her makes me feel nauseous."

A sharp, mocking voice came from behind them.

Aiken turned and frowned even deeper when he saw Simona standing there.

Zera's face flushed with embarrassment.

She hated Simona with a passion. That young lady had no filter, always tearing her down without mercy and making her look bad.noveldrama

And why couldn't Simona stay out of Aiken's business? He was an adult, capable of making his own choices. As his sister, couldn't she just keep her distance? Did she have to meddle and ruin things between them?

Zera was sure that if Simona hadn't appeared, Aiken would have hugged her, wiped the tears from her face, and taken her into his home-his fortress behind them.

"Why are you back today?" Aiken asked, his tone laced with irritation.

Simona crossed her arms and smirked. "What? This is my home. Am I not allowed to come back? Or is my timing inconvenient? Did I interrupt something important?

"A melodramatic performance like this would probably work on most men. There's a gazebo right there where she could've stayed dry, but no-she had to get drenched.

"Aiken, if you wanted entertainment, you should've said so earlier. I recently met an opera actress-she's brilliant in every way, from her voice to heracting. I guarantee her performance would help you distinguish between good and bad acting."

Her tone dripped with disdain as she glared at Zera.

She couldn't stand that woman—pretentious, manipulative, always playing the same games on her brother.

If Aiken wanted to fool around with someone like this, so be it-it was his choice. But to bully Wendy and then put on this revolting display in front of their home? That was too much.

It was disgusting, and she wasn't afraid to call it out.

"It's not what you think," Aiken said, frowning.

Zera quickly added, "Yes, it's not what you think. I'm not as scheming as you imagine. I just love Aiken and want to be with him. Is it wrong to love someone? If it is, then I admit my mistake. But please, don't let your feelings for me cause a rift between you and Aiken."

"I don't drink tea, so go boil some somewhere else," Simona snapped coldly.

Then she turned to her brother. "Aiken, if you want to fool around, do it elsewhere. You have another property nearby, the one with large windows. That's perfect for playing house. But don't dirty my home. If you do, I'll burn it down."

With that, she walked over to Zera, shoved her aside, and hissed, "Get lost. How dare you sit in my place?"

Then she kicked over the small bench.

"Simona!" Aiken barked in a stern tone.

Zera, seemingly frightened,

stammered, ... I'm sorry. I'm not dirty-I just got a little wet from the rain. I didn't even notice it was raining earlier because I was so focused on Aiken and thinking about whether I'd done something wrong. If you hate me this muchpl... I can only apologize. I'm truly sorry."

She played the innocent victim perfectly, like a helpless little bunny.
