Richest Mogul

Chapter 1701

Aiken's expression changed upon hearing Wendy's words. "Have you thought this through? This is the only call I'll make to you."

He could tolerate Wendy's little temper tantrums, but he wouldn't indulge her too much. He wouldn't change the rules for her.

"Aiken, thank you for everything you've done for me over the years. But please don't tell Simona about me. Let's just pretend we never knew each other. I wish you well.

"If it weren't for your help back then, I wouldn't be where I am today. From now on, we each go our separate ways," Wendy said with a smile.

Even though they were talking over the phone and couldn't see each other's faces, he still chose to smile while saying these words. It was time for them to move on.

Aiken was silent for a few seconds before ending the call.

After hanging up, Wendy immediately blocked Aiken's number. She knew that, given his personality, he wouldn't call or try to contact her again.

She lowered her head and gazed at the slight bulge of her abdomen, her face soft with tenderness.

Aiken sat alone in his study for a long time, all the way into the late hours of the night.

The house was quiet. Simona hadn't come home today, and she rarely did. Only the maids remained.

At 2:00 am, Aiken dialed Zera's number.

Zera had been waiting for Aiken's call for the past few days. As soon as she received the call, she nearly jumped out of her seat. "You finally called me, Aiken! You have no idea how scared I've been these past few days. I thought you might not want me anymore."

"Where are you?" Aiken asked coldly.noveldrama

Zera quickly replied, "I'm staying in the apartment you gave me. Are you coming to see me?"

"Wait for me," he replied simply.

Zera immediately sat up in bed, her heart racing.

Zera was used to staying up late and rarely went to bed early. She hadn't expected to receive a call from Aiken while she was mindlessly scrolling her phone.

She felt a weight lift off her chest when she saw his name on the screen. She had always believed that Aiken wouldn't lose interest in her. After all, they had just started their relationship, and Aiken was still supposed to be fascinated by her.

She quickly got out of bed and took a shower. Then she stood in front of the mirror, carefully applying a subtle yet seductive makeup look.

As she finished preparing, Aiken was just about to leave when Simona returned home.

Seeing Aiken dressed casually and about to drive out, Simona raised an eyebrow. She asked, "Going to see Zera?"

Aiken didn't answer directly but instead asked, "Why are you home so late?"

"I was out with colleagues for dinner and some karaoke," Simona replied, waving her hand dismissively.

"I know you're in a hurry to see Zera, so don't worry about me. Just go ahead."

She had come to terms with it. Today it could be Zera by Aiken's side, and tomorrow, it might be someone else—just not Wendy.

Aiken watched Simona drunkenly stagger inside before deciding not to leave. Instead, he followed her back into the house.

Skylar had just arrived at work and hadn't even started her day when her phone rang. It was from Thora.

"I've divorced, Mrs. Martin," she said, her voice flat.

Skylar looked up in surprise. "Divorced? Are you still at the courthouse? I'll send you a picture, and

you can show it to your

husband. I'll come by to see you later tonight."

"No need, Mrs. Martin."
