Chapter 690
By the time Bradley returned to Viremont, it was already past midnight. The streets were empty, with hardly any pedestrians around.
He drove straight to Yates Manor, parking his car right outside the wall beneath Cameron's bedroom window.
He rolled down the window and looked up at the second floor. Without any light burning in the window, he thought
Cameron was already asleep.
Bradley took out his phone, wanting to tell her that his parents had finally allowed him to settle down in Viremont.
'Or maybe,' he thought, 'I just want to say goodnight to her.'
But in the end, he still put his phone down. 'It's too late,' he wondered, 'the ringtone might wake Cam.'
So, Bradley just sat quietly in the car, shut off the engine, reclined his seat, and turned his head to look toward Cameron's window.
After running around all day, he was already exhausted. But for some reason, he just didn't want to go home.
Upstairs, Cameron wasn't asleep either.
Bradley had already told her yesterday that he'd be coming back to Viremont today. She figured he was probably already asleep at home by now. But he'd forgotten to say goodnight to her.
Cameron hesitated, wondering if she should text him first, but worried she might be bothering him if he was still with his
family.
After turning it over in her mind, she realized it was already past midnight.
It was inappropriate to text him now, but she just couldn't sleep.
She'd gotten used to falling asleep only after getting Bradley's goodnight message.
Unable to sleep, Cameron got up, slid open the glass door, and stepped out onto the terrace. She looked up at the sky. In the city, the nights never really got dark.
After just a glance, Cameron heard her phone ringing from inside the room.
It was a call from none other than Bradley.
Bradley had been keeping his eyes on her window, surprised to see that Cameron was still awake. So he instantly called
her.
Cameron went back inside, picked up her phone, and when she saw it was Bradley calling, she couldn't help but smile. "Hi, Brad."
"Cam, why aren't you asleep yet?" Bradley's voice was gentle and full of warmth.
"How do you know I'm not asleep?" Cameron asked.
"Come out onto the terrace," Bradley said.
Cameron, feeling a bit suspicious, stepped out onto the terrace. Looking straight ahead, she immediately spotted Bradley's black Mercedes parked outside. "Brad, what are you doing outside my house at this time of night?"
"I just wanted to see you," Bradley replied with a soft smile. "But I was worried you might already be asleep, so I didn't want to wake you."
"So you called me only when seeing me come out?" Cameron asked, as she started to head back inside.
Bradley had already gotten out of the car. "Cam, don't go back inside yet. Let me see you for a while," he called out.
'Even if it's just seeing you from across the wall, that's enough for me. Otherwise,
I won't be able to sleep tonight, Bradley thought.
But then, right in his ear, he heard her hang up on him.
Bradley was momentarily at a loss for words.
'Alright then. At least I got to see her, even though it was just for a few seconds. Honestly, that was enough for me.' He thought to himself.
But Bradley stayed right where he was, leaning against the car, a smile playing on his lips as he gazed toward Cameron's
room.
Honestly, he wasn't too keen on going home tonight, but he couldn't just stand out here all night.
'Then I'd stay just half an hour longer, then head home. Yes, just half an hour,' he promised himself.
"Brad." All of a sudden, he heard someone call out to him from behind.
Bradley turned away from the window, and when seeing Cameron stand there in her pajamas and fuzzy slippers, he froze
in shock.
He rushed over to her without a second thought, and the two of them were locked in a passionate embrace.
"Cam!"
"Brad!"
Bradley clasped Cameron in his arms. "Why did you come down here?" Cameron looked up at him, a smile on her lips. "Didn't you come here just for me?"
It was high summer, and even in the middle of the night, it was still quite hot. Cameron had rushed down so fast earlier that droplets of sweat were welling up on her forehead.noveldrama
Bradley reached out and wiped them away with his fingers. "Come on, get in the car first," he said softly.
