Chapter 250
Chapter 250:
“Jasmine,” Enzo said, his voice surprisingly gentle. “I’m Enzo. I know this is… a lot. But I had to know. We had to know.”
He held out a piece of paper—the DNA results. The proof. I didn’t take it. Neither did Jasmine. The paper didn’t matter. The truth was already there, written across Enzo’s face.
Jasmine’s eyes flicked to the paper, then back to Enzo. Her fingers tightened around mine, and I could feel her pulse quicken. She swallowed hard.
“So… it’s true?” Her voice was a fragile whisper.
Enzo nodded. His throat worked like he was trying to hold back emotion. “Yeah. It’s true. You’re my sister.”
The room fell into a heavy silence. The weight of the words hung in the air, impossible to ignore. I watched Jasmine’s face closely, waiting for the cracks, the panic. But instead, she just looked… tired. Not the physical kind of tired, but the soul-deep exhaustion that comes from having your world flipped upside down too many times.
“I don’t know what to say,” she admitted, her voice trembling.
Enzo smiled faintly, a sad, understanding kind of smile. “You don’t have to say anything. I just wanted you to know you have family. Real family. If you want it.”
The sincerity in his voice took me off guard. I was ready for him to demand something, to stake a claim on Jasmine like she was a piece in some political game. But there was none of that. Just a younger brother who’d spent years searching for someone he thought he’d lost forever.
Jasmine took a shaky breath, her eyes glistening with unshed tears.
“It’s hard to believe. I’ve spent my whole life thinking I was… someone else.”
Enzo’s expression hardened, a flicker of anger sparking in his eyes. “They stole that from you. Luna Anna, Marcus—they lied to you, to all of us. But you don’t have to figure this out alone. I’m here now. Whatever you need, whenever you need it.”
She nodded slowly, processing his words. I could see her walls slowly inching down, piece by piece. It wasn’t much, but it was something.

I cleared my throat, breaking the heavy silence. “You’re not taking her anywhere,” I said, my voice firm. “She stays here. With me.”
Enzo raised an eyebrow, his mouth twitching into a smirk. “Relax, Ryder. I’m not trying to steal her away. But if she wants to come visit her ‘real’ family, she’s more than welcome.”
Jasmine let out a soft, surprised laugh. The sound was weak, but it was real. And damn if that didn’t make my chest loosen a bit more.
“I’ll think about it,” she said, a hint of sass returning to her voice.
Enzo grinned, his eyes shining. “Good. That’s all I ask.”
He stepped back, giving her space, and nodded at me. “Take care of her, Ryder. Or I’ll come back and kick your ass.”noveldrama
I smirked. “You can try.”
He chuckled, but the warmth in his eyes told me he was serious. With a final glance at Jasmine, he turned and walked out, leaving us in the quiet once more.
Jasmine let out a breath she’d been holding, her shoulders slumping. I leaned in, brushing a strand of hair from her face.
“You okay?” I asked.
She nodded, her eyes meeting mine. “Yeah. I think… I think I will be.”
And for the first time in a long while, I believed it too.
